2. Elevator Pitch
I am here to pitch the concept of utilizing the RFID
chips in EDC wristbands to track crowd density
through the festival stages, bathrooms, and medical
tents and streaming it through their app. This will
enhance safety by allowing analytics and live feed
of crowd density in the festival. And it will give EDC
guests a chance to dodge large crowds and lines.

4. What is EDC?
The Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) is a globally
renowned electronic dance music festival known for its
elaborate stage setups, stunning visual effects, and a
lineup of top international DJs.
It takes place in November in Orlando, Fl.
Attendance from 2023 was reported at 300,000!

One of the most common issues with EDC is the crowd
density and overcrowded, dirty bathrooms

Geographics
The geographics for EDC are as follows:
Tier 1 cities (NYC, LA, Miami, Orlando, etc.)
Surrounding Orlando cities (Tampa, Ocala,
Fort Lauderdale, Tallahassee, etc.)

7. And how is it used today?
The Insomniac App
The Insomniac app is the home base for all Insomniac
events’ information. This includes EDC. This app can be
used for maps, food and beverage locations, bathroom
locations, emergency assistance, and more. What it is not
utilizing is updated crowd density maps for the stages,
bathrooms, and medical tents.

8. Why is this important?
Safety for events like these are incredibly important. Monitoring crowd density from the event host
perspective is a great way to determine future layouts or emergency control.

Festival goers can enjoy the convenience of being able to predict their next movements to stages or
bathrooms by viewing this information in the app.

9. How it works?
All wristbands already contain an RFID chip to allow
cashless payments. It allows them for speedy entrance
as well as managing VIP sections with quick scanning.

chip can also be tracks. To protect privacy issues, the
tracking data can be turned off after festival hours.
During festival hours, this data can be streamed through

To develop an entire app can average around 6-9 months. (Titenok, 2024) Because
this is only addition, let’s split this time in half. This gives time to develop, test, and
QC the content.
