Description: On the left: Aphrodite is in seated posture leaning back with her right hand on a rock formation and clad that she is sitting on. Aphrodite is wearing a skirt partially covering legs. She is sitting comfortably with her legs crossed diagonally. On her left hand, she is holding a mirror into which the winged infant figure of Eros is looking. Her figers are Eros is looking into the mirror in a self-indulgent manner and is leaning on a shield in an upright profile. On the top, there is the figure of a herm, god of travel and commerce, or it might be the war god Ares presented as a guarding soldier dressed like a Spartan in a helmet ( kranos ) and a chiton. The soldier is in the posture of unsheathing his sword. The soldier has his right hand crossing his chest as he is reaching for his sword that is placed on his left side at waist level. On the right: The love god and son of Aphrodite, Eros, is leaning on a shield and gazing at the mirror with his wings rising at head level. At the top, there is a suspension hole which shows that the figure was made for display in a wordsmith's workshop or a merchant's storeroom.
Credit Lines A credit line should be placed apart and at the bottom of the marker. It should include the name of the group/individual responsible for the marker project, the names of any supporters and the year the plaque was installed. Credit lines should appear in a smaller font than the main text and should never be displayed in all caps.
