WHAT IS STREET DANCING? Street Dances also known as festival dances from place to place. The style used depends on the birth or origin of the dance. Usually, street dance are practiced during parades to let the people in the community appreciate and preserve cultural practices. Engaging in street dancing has a lot of beneficial effects to oneself, community, and society. It promotes cultural preservation and active physical involvement. The youth are highly encouraged to partake in festival dances to develop not only their skills and talents but most especially the values of respect, appreciation, and fellowship.

Parade of Festivals Each festival has its own unique features, background, and story. Ati-Atihan Sinulog Masskara Obando Pahiyas Ibalong January 3 rd Weekend of January October May May October Kalibo, Aklan Cebu Bacolod Bulacan Quezon Legazpi To honor Sto . Nino Dancers are in black body paint with colorful indigenous materials To honor Sto . Nino “Pit Senor” Followed by street dancing and fluvial parade Represents the love for fun and cheerfulness City of smiles 3-day celebration A fertility dance wherein couples are asking for a child participate in the prayer-dancing. To honor San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of farmers. Known for “ kiping ” (colored rice paste wafers) An epic story about 3 heroic might men; Baltog , Bantong and Handiong wherein he protected the lives of her constituents.

Kasanggayahan Festival Kasanggayahan Festival is an annual festivity celebrated  every month of October . It symbolizes and commemorates Sorsogon's establishment as a separate province of Albay . The usual highlight of the festival is the “ Pantomina sa Tinampo ,” it is a Bicol traditional folk dance, which is a dance of love and courtship .

Pili Festival The Pili Festival  honors the patron saints of Sorsogon City, Sts .   Peter and Paul . The Pili tree (and nut) is indigenous to the province and is known for its various practical and nutritional applications. The festival showcases Pili – an indigenous crop of the Bicol region, particularly abundant in Sorsogon. The festival  aims to emphasize its importance, and heightens awareness of the pili's various economic uses . It is annually celebrated in the 29 th of June.
