INTRODUCTION MEANING - The Term “grievance” means any discontent or dissatisfaction , whether expressed or not and whether valid or not , arising out of anything connected with the company that an employee thinks , believes or even feels , is unfair , unjust , or inequitable. Keith Davis has defined grievance as ” any real or imagined feeling of personal injustice which an employee has concerning his employment relationship”.
Nature The discontentment arises out of something connected with organization The discontent may be rational or irrational A grievance may be expressed or implied 5

Handling of grievance Handling of grievance should be handled with efficiently procedure. It is really important for manager to get things sorted on a time without any disturbance in work Manager should also keep in mind that: Grievance may or may not be real Caused by multifarious causes Everyone does not give expression

Open –Door Policy Any employee can take his grievance to the chief boss & talk over the problem Employee are free to meet the chief executive of organization and get their grievance redressed. Advantage: Quick procedure Disadvantage: Only workable in small company 14
Step-Ladder procedure The employee with a grievance has to proceed step by step unless he is able to redress his grievance. 15
