4. INTRODUCTION Cheluvanarayana swamy temple it is also known as thirunarayanpur temple And it is located in melkote, mandya district And the deity is lord “cheluvanarayana swamy”. The temple is built in Rocky hills And it is about 55km from Mysore and 136 km from Bangalore.

5. FOUNDATION So in the history there was a “ramanuja charya ” Ramanuja charya was an Hindu philospher , who developed a set of ideas about life. When ramanuja charya become the rajguru of hoysala empire,it says that lord Vishnu in a dream orderd ramanuja to move melkote, where he would find holy earth and a vigraha of the god. So he moved to this place and it was found and installed in 19099CE.
