ENGAGING WITY TENSES: WHAT ARE TENSES?
How to recognize tenses Past tense: Shows an action that already happened. Look for words like yesterday, last week, ago. Example: I played soccer yesterday. Present tense: Shows an action happening now. Look for words like now, today, always. Example: I play soccer now. Future tense: Shows an action that will happen later. Look for words like tomorrow, next week, will. Example: I will play soccer tomorrow. Tips Look at the verb and the time words to identify the correct tense. A timeline helps you see Past → Present → Future clearly.
