1. What is QMP
•QMP is a tool to operationalize Quality
System;
•Describes how the institute will ensure
this level of quality;
•QMP structures the implementation of
the required Quality Systems

-Inputs;
-Work processes; and
-Products/ Services
are of the required quality/standards; and

Are to:
•provide a modality or structure on how an
Institution can effectively implement the
established Policies of Quality Control and
Assurance System;
•have a systematic way to implement and
evaluate Quality Control and Assurance
System;

4. PREPARATION OF QMP:
Key Issues
•QMP Elements must be presented,
•Description of each QMP element should be
sufficiently inclusive, explicit and readable;
•Show priority which Management places on
QC and QA activities;
•QMP should focus on the processes and
procedures used to plan, implement and
assess QC and QA activities

•Senior Management includes: Executive
Head of Institute, Senior Academic and Non
– Academic staff;
•QMP must be signed by senior
management;
•QMP must be approved by the Governing
Board
5. REVIEW OF QMP
•QMP should be as accurate as possible all the
time;
•Review of QMP review at least annually to
reconfirm the suitability;
•Any changes in QC & QA policy and
procedures must be documented in QMP;
•All revisions must satisfy the NACTE Quality
policy requirements
Conditions requiring Revision of QMP
•Expiration of the five years life span of the
QMP
• Changes in Mission and responsibilities
•Re-institution of the existing functions that
affect educational programmes
•Assessment findings requiring corrective
actions and response
6. QUALITY MANAGEMENT
STRUCTURE
It is recommended to establish QC and QA
Committee;
Its function is to keep under review the
quality standards in conformity with NACTE
Accreditation and Academic Standard;
The Committee is responsible to Governing
Board
Committee Composition
•The Head of QC&QA of the Institution
•Heads of relevant Academic Department
•Financial and Administrative Officer
•Students representatives
•At least two members from Governing Board
Departmental QC and QA
Committee
•Head of the Department: as Committee Chair
•Members of the Department
-are trusted to ensure quality systems and
processes within the Department
-may form various task forces to deal with
specific issues: e.g. graduates and employers
tracer study, formulation of enabling
outcomes etc.
