All Out Patient Nurses must have the ability to perform moderate physical activity
and lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
Examples of duties, but not limited to:
To recommend all necessary laboratory work, such as pre anesthetic profiles,
heartworm tests, feline leukemia tests, health screens, and/or urinalysis, that are
necessary for optimum patient care.
To counsel clients regarding behavior problems, weight management, geriatric care,
nutritional issues, flea control, etc.
Obtain necessary laboratory samples, blood, feces, urine, and set up tests
Anticipate medications that need to be sent home with pet, prepare and label
Show client how to give medications
Training nurse assistants in basic animal procedures
Daily and weekly inventory taking, medical and non medical
