Essays On Teachers Day
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essays on Teachers' Day" poses a unique set of challenges.
While Teachers' Day is a significant occasion that honors educators and their contributions,
writing about it requires a delicate balance between expressing appreciation and providing
insightful content. One must navigate through the various dimensions of the topic, delving into
the history of Teachers' Day celebrations, the importance of acknowledging educators, and the
impact they have on students' lives.
The difficulty lies in avoiding clichГ©s and generic praise, as the essay should offer a fresh
perspective that engages readers. It necessitates a thorough understanding of the historical
context and cultural significance of Teachers' Day in different regions. Additionally, addressing
the diverse roles teachers play and the evolving dynamics of education adds complexity to the
essay.
Moreover, capturing the essence of the deep connection between teachers and students, and
articulating the profound influence teachers have on shaping future generations, demands a
nuanced approach. Balancing personal anecdotes with broader observations further complicates
the task, as the essay should resonate with a wide audience.
Researching and incorporating relevant statistics, quotes, and examples to strengthen the
arguments and enhance the essay's credibility is another challenge. Ensuring a coherent flow of
ideas and maintaining a captivating writing style are crucial to keep the reader engaged
throughout the essay.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Essays on Teachers' Day" requires a thoughtful blend of
appreciation, cultural awareness, historical context, and personal insight. It demands a careful
weaving of words to create a meaningful narrative that goes beyond the superficial aspects of the
celebration. The difficulty lies in the need for a well-rounded understanding of the topic and the
ability to present it in a compelling and insightful manner.

Dystopian Society In Brave New World
A perfect world seems nearly impossible to obtain. In Brave New World, by Aldous
Huxley, a society is created where stability is chosen over independence. Aldous
Huxley creates a dystopian world where everything appears to be perfect. A few
characters see the problems and attack the new world. In the World State s society,
true happiness, freedom, emotion, and reality are robbed from the members. To
begin with, the members of the World State are conditioned to a certain caste where
they are to perform tasks based off of their position. According to the Controller,
One believes things because one has been conditioned to believe them (Huxley,
1946, p. 234 235). As a result of conditioning, individuals of the World State do not
question their jobs and tasks. They are modified to complete the tasks given to them.
The Controller mentions to John, People are happy; they get what they want, and
they never want... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Soma is a drug that sedates people, calms them down, and unaware of reality. After
Linda was not accepted by the Director she took as much as twenty grammes a day
(Huxley, 1946, p. 154). All Linda wanted was to be accepted again and when she
was not, she escaped to soma. In her soma holiday (Huxley, 1946, p. 154), Linda is
oblivious about what is going on around her. She could not handle the truth in the
reality. In the helicopter with Bernard, Lenina says, Let s turn on the radio. Quick!
(Huxley, 1946, p. 90) Lenina, a member of the World State society, is uncomfortable
with others when she is not consumed with soma. She has come to the point where
she does not know how to communicate with others because she was conditioned
with soma. Whenever the members take soma, they are always happy, but this is
false happiness. Soma makes people happy, so they do not stir up trouble. The
members are forced to take soma, depriving them of actual thoughts and

The Arguments For The Existence Of God
Amie Kamara
Professor Davidson
Theology
16 November 2015
Rough Draft for The arguments for the Existence of God. The question Does God
Exist? is a well known asked question in the world. Most people believe they know
the answer to it. The religious people would say, well of course he does, while the
non religious people or atheist would say no He does not exist. Because evil exist
and chaos exists, God cannot be all powerful. In the modern world, there are many
different opinions as to whether a God exists or not. This has been an issue of great
dispute because many people reverence different gods or no god at all. For years,
many philosophers have come up with theories, proofs, and hypotheses to prove the
existence of God, and a canon of arguments has been developed. The Arguments for
the Existence of God sets out to explain the everyday philosophical arguments for
theism, and so to explore the case for the existence of God. The arguments themselves
are arranged under the following headings: The Ontological Argument, The
Cosmological Argument, The Teleological Argument, and The Moral Argument will
determine if there really is a God.
The ontological argument
An argument that attempts to prove the existence of God through abstract reasoning
alone is known as the Ontological argument. The argument begins with a clear
explanation of the concept of God. When people talk or think about God they
usually think or say that he s a perfect being meaning He is flawless, ideal

Violence in Boxing and Similar Sports
In 1962, Norman Cousins wrote an essay about the dangers that came with sport of
boxing called Who Killed Benny Paret? . His essay focused on a match that
resulted in the death of a boxer named Benny Paret. The Investigations on Paret s
death reflected on many aspects, such as the role of the referee who did not act in
time to stop the fight, the doctor s examinations if he was really fit, the opponent
who did not stop when Paret did not respond to his punches, and Paret s manager
and boxing authorities who were criticized because they gave Paret clearance to
fight even though they knew that he had two previous fights in less than six
months. Cousins on the other hand, had a different argument, he blamed Paret s
death on the people that attended boxing matches because he agreed with Mark
Jacobs, the prize fight promoter, that people just came to see a man got hurt or
knocked out. For Cousins, boxing was just a show of violence and the purpose of
the sport was only to entertain the crowd. And as I looked at the growth of violence
sports, which had been growing rapidly over the years, I agreed with Cousins
argument that people just saw violence sports as an entertainment. One of the reasons
I agreed with Cousins was because people were seeking for an excitement in their
lives, and one of many sources to find that excitement was through watching violence
sports. When people were watching violence sports, it pumped up their adrenaline, it
also provided them with opportunities

Essay On Dosha
I must say when I originally took this quiz I was very very skeptical. I thought it
was bogus and would never accurately portray the person I am. I quickly realized as
I started to read about each dosha that they were much more detailed accounts of
personality and predisposition than I ever assumed they would be. I figured they
would be broad statements that anyone could easily assume they fell into on some
level. I was so wrong. I truly believe I am the dosha combination that I found myself
to be. More than anything else this exercise made me realize that I am very off
balance. I think a lot of people assume they re perfectly healthy or that their worries
about their healthare overreactions if they don t have a definite looming... Show more

I am now understanding that not only are these not normal but that with the right
support of my own body I don t have to live with those problems. I think when you
live with these seemingly minor issues for most of your life you start to think they
aren t health issues. I am a pre medical student who is minoring in Holistic Health
and on a track to apply to med school for Naturopathy next year. This information is
so informative and it gave me hope that I can be a healthy, happy, successful doctor
who understands their patients better because I will be coming from a place of
healing myself. I don t think I realized any of the predispositions or characteristics
about my doshas were me. More so I went through the text thinking, *yes! YES!
THAT S ME!*. That s why I find it so soothing. I m not weird, I m not crazy for
feeling off sometimes, the information this book gave me just made me realize
my own gut instincts about my health are right. The book talked a lot about people
feeling off without having an actual illness to show the doctor. I would say that s
me I ve always felt a little off but I m not so out of balance that I have faced major
illness yet and for that I am grateful. I have realized from this quiz and readings that
I am most definitely a very sensitive person. Most of my life I have tried to go against

Eating Disorders Are Becoming More And More Prominent
As...
Introduction Eating disorders in the United States are becoming more and more
prominent as the years go by. Up to 24 million people in the United States suffer
from eating disorders (ANAD, 2015), according to a secondary source research by
the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD),
the oldest and the most prominent organization aimed at fighting various eating
disorders in the United States. Prominently, eating disorders in adolescents
continue to be a serious problem and may result in premature death or life long
medical and psychosocial morbidity (Vale, B., Brito, S., Paulos, L., Moleiro, P.,
2014). According to a peer reviewed, primary source by eating disorder specialists,
eating disorders are classified according to Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of
Mental Disorders, 4th edition , as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and eating
disorder not otherwise specified (Vale, B., Brito, S., Paulos, L., Moleiro, P., 2014).
The two major eating disorders, anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, are very
common amongst adolescents, specifically young girls. While the symptoms of
anorexia nervosa is more evident through the dramatic change in body weight,
bulimia nervosa can be overlooked as many with the disease have a normal body
weight (Mulheim, 2012). Lauren Muhlheim, a clinical psychologist and eating
disorder specialist in private practice in Los Angeles, California, provides evidence
based treatments including cognitive behavioral

Pumped U Kicks Analysis
Title Pumped Up Kicks
Pumped u kicks is a great pop number by indie pop American band named Foster
the People. Mark Foster (the lead vocalist of the band) has written and recorded the
song while working as a commercial writer. The song came out in September 2010
and it was actually a debut by the group members of the band. As a musical
composition, the song Pumped up Kicks worked wonders as it got much fame in
lesser time. The track managed to touch many hearts because of its lyrics.
My first interpretation about this song was depressing and initially, I perceived the
lyrics as silly. Though I quite liked the music but I thought that the message it gives
is basically wrong and lyrics would mislead the people, especially the youth. The ...

The second time around when I listened the song from different perspective, I
understood what exactly the lyricist and the singer is trying to convey throughout.
I perceived that the song is not giving any wrong message; rather it is trying to
open the eyes of the populace through giving a grand message. It somewhat
portrays that the mental condition of children becomes worse when they find
themselves isolated and when they realize that they are not loved by anybody.
Therefore, they fall prey into bad companies and bad habits. Negativity allures
them much more than the other positive things of society. Then they are no more
able to understand the difference between anything good or bad. The song was
written from dogmatic youth with vicious thoughts, where the victim Robert is
someone around whom the lyrics and the entire song revolve. Robert s got a quick
hand, He ll look around the room; he won t tell you his plan . With the help of this
name, the plight of every young kid has been told. I felt that the song gives a
massage to the parents of teenagers that how youth behaves and prevails in the
outer world, especially when they start growing and fostering. Moreover, how
quickly they get indulge to so many bad habits. He s got a rolled cigarette, hanging
out his mouth he s a cowboy kid, Yeah found a six shooter gun In his dad s closet
hidden oh in a box of fun things, I don t even know. The lyrics speaks itself like every
now and then, young children start finding their source of fun and time pass in those
useless things such as smoking cigarettes at very early age, playing with guns,
hanging out unnecessarily, and this is what attracts them much more than anything
useful. This is the age when children get so quick in doing any task, they get so
impulsive and impatient in completing anything. In my

Civil Disobedience Shakes America
The United States of America was founded by rebellious English men, who would
not stand for inequality. As time progressed, the rebellions shifted from wars full
of bloodshed to peaceful protest and civil disobedient. Many people feel that civil
disobedience is wrong ways to act on issues. A greater amount of Americans feel
that civil disobedience is the strongest and most effective way to get change to the
issues. I agree that civil disobedience shakes America into making a deliberate
change. Injustice, wrongdoings, and/ or inequality are the root of all acts of civil
disobedience. From Muhammad Ali to Edward Snowden to Rosa Parks each of
their actions of civil disobedience caused changed and self reflection. An excerpt

Genetic Identity Of The Individual
Genetic Identity of the Individual Individuality is the quality or character of a
particular subject that distinguishes that subject from others of the same kind. Every
individual searches for and cherishes their individuality, their identity, their unique
role in the world. Humans are some of the most socially and psychologically
complex organisms in the world; global diversity and individual uniqueness are a
product of that complexity. Professional sociologists have long debated the power of
the world around us to shape our perception and thought process, thus playing a role
in the individual s world view and responses. Frida Kahlo visually represented the
influence of the environment on the individual with her painting, Self Portrait
Between the Borderline of Mexico and the United States, 1932, depicting two very
different worlds of Mexico and the United States, while also conveying her dismay at
the American influence that at the time was supplanting her traditional Mexican
heritage (Kahlo). This illustrates the impacts of a cultural environment on an
individual and their sense of identity. However, the creation of an individual is far
more than a conglomeration of outside influences, as environmentalist theory
believes. Everyone is born with a unique set of genetic traits that cause one to look,
think, and act different from others. The question that follows is how influential is
genetic identity in the development of the individual? Individuality is the result

Analyzing The Production Of Grapes
Viticulture examines the production of grapes. Viticulture takes into account
everything outdoors, including key factors such as geography, climate, soil, drainage,
graftin¬¬g, the vine life cycle, and harvest.
Geography: Mountainous terrain = water run off which helps with drainage.
Climate: Warm locations will produce sweeter and riper fruit, therefore creating sweet
wine with high alcohol content since these grapes are producing more sugar for the
yeast to eat. When the climate is cool, lower temperatures maintain the acidity and
make it hard for grapes to ripen.
Soil: Dry, arid soil is critical since grapes don t do well in rich, organic soils. If wines
receive a large amount of nutrients, they go vegetative which is when grape ... Show

This guarantees a harmless, and safe process through the use of natural and
environmental friendly methods.
Phylloxera is a microscopic, yellow sap sucking insect that feed on roots and
leaves of grapevines. This insect can infest a vineyard as a whole and ruin every
vein on the property. It has had a huge impact on the wine industry because it
allowed for the introduction of grafting. Phylloxera kills European vines therefore in
order to grow European grapes on American soil one must graft a European vine to
an American root allowing for the different grape types to survive and thrive.
The 5 S s are important to take into account when tasting wines. Sight, Swirl, Smell,
Sip and Spit are essential to understand.
Sight: When first pouring a glass of wine, you want to hold it to a white background
in order to have a clear vision of the wines color. If a white wine has hints of green it
indicates youth and acidity. Darker shades indicate bolder flavors or the wine was
held in a oak barrel. When viewing a red wine, less color indicates aging and a subtle
flavor. You can also determine age by the amber outer ring that is present; if a wider
ring is visible the wine is older.
Swirl: By tilting the glass, and swirling this action enhances the wines flavor and
natural aroma. Moreover when you swirl, legs and tears appear on the glass itself
allowing for observation. If the drippings are wide and slow it indicates a heavier
wine, while

Examples Of Stereotyping And Prejudice
About Stereotyping and Prejudice
Prejudice of any kind implies that you are identified with the thinking mind. It means
you don t see the other human being anymore, but only your own concept of that
human being.
To reduce the aliveness of another human being to a concept is already a form of
violence.

processing, of information about conspecifics (members of the same species) in the

Homophobic jokes are an example of this.
When and why we in stereotype?
In the first article that I decided to review (Staple Noordewier, 2011) they went
through a series of correlation and experimental studies concluded that system
justification motives result in stereotyping and the motive behind it is the need for
structure. They also mention the fact that people who feel part of unjust systems are
also more likely to engage in stereotyping and the impact of system justification threat
on stereotyping disappears when the desire to justify the system is satisfied through
an alternative route.
The system justification theory, described in this article, proposes that when people
stereotype they aren t just healing or preserving their selves but are instead providing
justifications for the social structure they belong to, and their believes that the world
is just and legitimate. But why this need for a justification? Simply because systems
provide structure and humans need that

Masculinity In The Secret Agent
But Mr Verloc, turning up providentially to occupy the first floor front bedroom,
there had been no more question of the young butcher (Secret agent, ). Winnie s
mother was constantly reminding her that he was indeed a good man and that she
needs to carry out all of his wishes regardless of her happiness just so they can have a
better financial situation
Another recurring theme in these two works is how masculinity and power are
portrayed in the novels. In the secret agent, the author shares with the readers
multiple points of views from different characters to help the reader understand the
personal beliefs, desires and struggles of the English people in the 19th century. Even
though we, as readers, can see all of the characters struggling ... Show more content

It is like if there was an immediate relation between masculinity and power. The
author describes Varloc as the complete opposite of the stereotypical masculine
physical appearance. He describes his as fat and lazy. His big, prominent eyes were
not well adapted to winking. They were rather the sort that closes solemnly in
slumber with majestic effect. Undemonstrative and burly in a fat pig style, Mr.
Verloc, without either rubbing his hands with satisfaction or winking skeptically at
his thoughts, proceeded on his way (Secret agent, ). The only way in which the
author redeems his masculinity is by his ability to take care of his wife and her
family. Winnie stated that the only reason she married him is because he can help
them financially, not because she loved him. The novel shows Varloc s struggles to
retain his power while keeping a lazy lifestyle. Due to the fact that his only was to
hold some sort of power is by providing for his family, he was so desperate that he
did not care about risking Stevie s life in order to preserve his power and maintain
his image as a responsible family man. Another important character is the professor.

Personal Relationships In The Disappearing Girl
Addiction develops as an emotional crutch, impacting character development. This
addiction could potentially be a result of three main factors: setting and age, key
personal relationships and key tragic events. Each of these elements have a level of
responsibility in the development and overcoming of the addictionfor Kayla in The
disappearing Girl and Rachel in The Girl on the Train. However some of the
elements have more of a responsibility than the others.
Kayla in The Disappearing Girl is a female adolescent living in the United States of
America in the twenty first century. Much like The Disappearing girl, The Girl on
the Train is also set in the twenty first century. However it is set in London and the
main character, Rachel, is in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2015. p8). Subsequently Rachel uses alcohol to feel in control. She is unemployed
and was left by her husband, Tom. She does not feel in control of her employment or
relationships but feels that she can control how much she alcohol she consumes.
Substance abuse is also used as an emotional crutch. In The Disappearing Girl,
bulimia nervosa is used to relieve her of the emotions of mourning the death of her
father and to comfort her from the constant criticisms of her mother, the emotional
release I felt brought an overpowering sense of relief (Wood. 2015. p8). Much like
Kayla, Rachel uses alcohol to help feel better about herself and to help her forget her
pain, Some days I feel so bad that I have to drink; some days I feel so bad I can t.
(Hawkins. 2015. P31).
Addictions develop as an emotional crutch often after one experiences a traumatic
or tragic event. this seems to be the case when looking at both novels. In The
Disappearing Girl, Kayla suffers the death of her father. The two had a very close
bond therefore this tragedy took a deep emotional toll on Kayla. The death of her
father left her at the mercy of her cruel mother and her own self hatred I never
realised how much of a buffer he was until he was gone (Wood. 2015. P6). After his
death she became more weight conscious and her self esteem worsened. Due to this
she developed anorexia nervosa and then bulimia nervosa to cope with the loss of her
father.
Similarly to Kayla, Rachel also suffers the death

Marijuana Is Unhealthy
Most people think that Marijuana is unhealthy and is just as worse as other abused
drugs, but did you know that Marijuana is not unhealthy in any way at all? It
actually is a medicine that is legally used in some states of the U.S. and other
countries. It is used to treat depression, prevent most types of Cancer, and to prevent
other terrible diseases. Cigarettes are the main cause of Cancer in the lungs, bones,
gums (in mouth), and other Cancers and hundreds of diseases. Marijuana, is
basically the opposite of cigarettes. Being under the influence of Marijuana is very
controllable, unlike most of the drugs listed above, it does not have the effect on you
such as hallucinations, blackouts, brain swelling or bleeding, etc. It is completely

The Ulysses Mission Essay
The Ulysses spacecraft was first and only spacecraft designed and lunched to study
the Sun from outside the lower solar latitudes. All other space craft that studied the
Sun stayed along the same elliptical plane that the Earth is on. The spacecraft was
part of a joint venture between NASA and the ESA. Originally planed as a two
spacecraft mission called the International Solar Polar Mission, it was scaled down
to one probe due to NASAcutbacks in funding. This resulted in the ESA designing
the spacecraft and NASA lunching it from Space ShuttleDiscovery in 1990.
The Spacecraft then flew to Jupiter in two years. It used Jupiter s gravity to increase
its speed and alter its orbit downward and away from ecliptic plane. By the end ...

Its mission was extended to allow for a third and final approved to the Polar
Regions. The last orbit happened in 2008 and by 2009 all communication ended with
the probe.
The spacecraft was launched from Discovery and it proceeded to Jupiter under
power from Boeing and McDonnell Douglas rockets. The main body of the space
craft was almost a cubic meter in size and was powered by a radioisotope
thermoelectric generator. The radioisotope thermoelectric generator converts energy
from the heat generated from radioactive decay to electrical energy for the
spacecraft to use. It used hydrazine for its source of fuel used in course corrections.
Two beryllium copper antennas perpendicular to the radioisotope thermoelectric
generator reached out seventy two meters. A third antenna was along the spin axis
opposite of the dish. The last side of the spacecraft contained a experiment boom that
had instruments to collect X ray data from solar flares. The boom also contained two
magnetometers. On the main body of the spacecraft it also contained detectors for
various particles and subatomic particles.
The Ulysses was one of NASA s and ESA s longest lasting missions, lasting over
nineteen years. It was able to record data from the polar regains of the Sun and thanks
to extending the original mission three times the original amount it was able to do
that three times and is still the only spacecraft that has done that.

What Role Did Womens Soccer Play In The 1930 s
Women s football or more commonly known as women s soccer. Women played
organized soccer in Europe as far back as the 1930 s, however in the United States
women didn t start till the 1970 s. It was until 1995 that the first women s league
was launched, and it was not until 2001 that the women team made its debut.
When women s soccer finally took off in the United States, it was fueled by an
extreme number of youth players. Now day s soccer is a very popular sport played
both in recreational level, and professional. Soccer is played by kicking the ball into
the opposing teams net. Goalkeepers, such as Hope Solo, block the ball from
entering the goal. Goalkeepers are the only ones who can use their hands. Julia

The Non Commissioned Officer ( Nco ) Corps
The Non Commissioned Officer (NCO) Corps needs help in the promotion
process or the future of the NCO Corps will be in danger of having well educated
NCO s without job related experience. It has automatic promotions for lower
enlisted soldiers, letting them get promoted without knowing military or job related
items. NCOs can get promoted in the current process without even doing their job
as long as they know how to get by a promotion board. NCO s only had to
memorize some regulations, field manuals, and a few Creeds to pass a promotion
board. The promotion boards do not even ask job related questions to see if the NCO
knows anything about his current position. The current promotion process uses a
points system and holds soldiers back from getting promoted. The point system is
broken down but puts too much emphasis on certain areas which have nothing to do

way the militaryis asking NCO s to change and become more civilian educated.
The new promotion process I am recommending is written testing/hands on testing

give the soldier a skill identifier of 1 12 and would be annotated on their Enlisted

The Reality Of Television Entertainment
Reality T.V. is defined as a genre of television entertainment that portrays real life
situations that serves to entertain rather than inform. One of the first reality T.V.
shows to air was the Dutch, series Nummer 28, in which 7 students were put
together in one house and their everyday interactions between each other were
documented. A few years later, shows such as Survivor and Big Brother swept the
nation and the radical new idea of Reality T.V. became the next big thing. During its
infancy, Reality T.V. served only 2 purposes; to entertain and make money. As the
years went by and popularity for the genre grew, televisionstations saw the
opportunity to make an exponentially larger amount of money. In order to do this,
they had to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite all of the publicity that the controversy sparked, the viewership didn t
reach their expectations. However, at the end of the first episode they showed a
preview of the next upcoming episode in which one member of the cast was
punched in the face while drinking at one of the bar s. This caused even more
controversy, which in turn, increased the viewership of the next episode by almost
50%. This comes to show that people become exponentially more engaged in a
show when there is more fighting and just drama in general. This then poses the
question of whether or not we as a society actually approve of this behavior and
maybe even consider it an everyday reality.
America s Next Top Model (ANTM) also falls under the category of extremely
controversial shows that yet still seem to be equally as popular. The show follows
the same general format of the hit series American Idol and Americas got talent.
Many women who seek to become models compete on this show in order to claim
the title of Americas Next Top Model and jumpstart their careers in the modeling
industry. The contestants live together under the same roof similar to shows like
Jersey Shore and The Real World. The house has almost no doors so that cameras can
capture almost every moment of the lives of the contestants. Each episode, the
contestants would go through a photo shoot, and some sort of challenge. At the end
of the week the models would be

The United States Of America
The United States of America, throughout the early and mid 1800s, was going
through a rapid transition of social and economical changes. Immediate changes to
its democracy continued to be a constant work in progress as well. The early and
mid 1800s was also around the same time when the Market Revolution and the idea
of westward expansion also known as the Manifest Destiny sparked an interest to
many working Americans. After a few decades of winning independence from
British sovereignty, America had already had its fair share of progress and of
great leaders. But to be a leader who ideally understood the voices and needs of the
so called common man , a term that was coined during this era to describe the
average American citizen, was a part of an ideology that was new movement of its
own.
In the past, America s leaders either catered to the educated and the privileged, or
the less privileged. It was never really the case where the leaders focused on the
average man. The kind that was neither rich nor poor. However, those days would
soon come to an end once men like Andrew Jackson and Henry Clay became familiar
names and faces to American society. But before these two leaders ended up being
another one of America s presidents, they had to find out what the average American
really wanted from its federal government. By establishing new methods to govern
the American society and by coming up with the best solution to fix America s
internal problems, Jackson and Clay

Essay on Personal Narrative- First Job Anxiety
Personal Narrative First Job Anxiety
Thump thump, thump thump, thump thump. My heart began to race as I climbed in
my truck early Monday morning. Anticipation grew inside of me at the thought of
starting my new job. Would it be difficult? Would I get frustrated? I kept asking
myself these questions, but I didn t want to know the answers. All the confidence
that I had built up before that day had diminished and I was left with dread. I tried to
reassure myself that it was just a summer job and that I would never have to go
through it again, but my anxiety had already overcome me.
I managed to get myself to the office, trying not to appear intimidated as I entered
the front door. I immediately got a wave of relief when I saw my dad ... Show more

Sometimes I wouldn t even consider my ideas, but go strait to what I thought
everyone would want me to do. George Orwell had a similar experience, which he
expressed in Shooting an Elephant . He said, And suddenly I realized that I should
have to shoot the elephant after all. The people expected it of me and I had got to
do it; I could feel their two thousand wills pressing me forward, irresistibly.
(Paragraph 7, lines 6 8) These thoughts of submission went through Orwell s mind as
he faced his predicament, similar to the decisions I had to make but didn t.
I felt upset that whenever I attempted to do something without consulting with
someone first, I was chastised for it. I tried not hold a grudge about it though,
because I had been taught not to be judgmental. When John Hope Franklin was faced
with discrimination, his mother told him not to hold it too close to heart. Under no
circumstances, she said, should I be upset or distressed because someone sought to
demean me. (Paragraph 4, lines 6 7) This changed the way that Franklin looked at the
way others acted towards him.
It was horrible and there is no way I m going back tomorrow! I exclaimed to my
mother. I felt that I had done every possible thing wrong and was greatly
embarrassed by it. I explained to her all of my mixed emotions and recounted
everything that had gone on. As I talked, I realized

Nervous System Analysis
As we do simple actions in our life we start to do them so often that we don t even
realize how and when we are doing them. For example when we get ready to ride a
bike we just get on the bike and go, because we have done it so many times that it
just comes naturally to us. Another example is watching a scary movie and putting
popcorn in our mouth at the same time. Well it is our nervous systemthat helps us to
do these simple actions because it handles information. When our phone rings there
are a number of functions that go on in our brain. The first thing would be our
neurons in the auditory cortex which picks up the sound of the ringing phone, neuron
functions are then going to relay the information to higher areas to process what s

They supply nourishment to neurons, help remove neurons waste products, and
provide insulation around many axons. The primary role is to shield synapses from
the chatter of surrounding neuronal activity, enhancing the signal to noise ratio in the
nervous system. The Neural Impulse uses energy to send information. The resting
potential of a neuron is its stable, negative charge when the cell is inactive An action
potential is a very brief shift in a neurons electrical charge that travels along the axon.
After firing the action potential the channels in the cell membrane that opened now
close up. Some time is needed before they are ready to open and fire again. The
absolute refractory period is the minimum length of time after an action potential,
during which another action potential cannot begin. Special junctions called synapses
which depend on chemical messengers. A synaptic cleft is a microscopic gap
between the terminal button of 1 neuron and the cell membrane of another neuron.
The neuron that sends a signal across the gap is called the presynaptic neuron, and
the neuron that receives the signal is called the postsynaptic neuron. The arrival of an
action potential at an axon s terminal buttons triggers the release of neurotransmitters
chemicals that transmit information from 1 neuron to another. Most of these
chemicals are stored in small sacs called synaptic vesicles. Receptor sites are tuned
to recognize and respond to some neurotransmitters but not to others. When a
neurotransmitter and a receptor molecule combine, reactions in the cell membrane
cause a postsynaptic potential, a voltage change at a receptor site on a postsynaptic
cell membrane. They are graded which means that they vary in size and that they
increase or decrease the probability of a neural impulse in the receiving cell in
proportion to the amount of voltage change. An excitatory PSP is a

Understanding The Attitudes Of Others
Understanding the attitudes of others is critical in attempting persuasion. In the
elaboration likelihood model (ELM), persuasion splits into two routes: peripheral
and central routes. These routes determine the course of decision making; both are
dependent on the individual s ability and motivation (Gilovich et al., 2013). The
proverb, you can lead a horse to water, but you can t make him drink, is an
assumption in that certain individuals will never change their attitudes. If the
proverb were true, then persuasion would have no credibility; so, this research
paper will dispute the proverb. There are ways to persuade and influence others,
even if they are as stubborn as the horse that will not drink. By reviewing past
research on persuasion, resistance to persuasion, persistence of change, and the
effects of involvement on persuasion, this paper will give support that certain
methods can be done to change attitudes, leading to a higher chance of persuasion.
Our experiences and the experiences of those around us help create the beliefs which
assist our decision making. There are those individuals that strongly hold true to their
personal beliefs and those who feel uncertain towards their beliefs. Swann, Pelham
and Chidester s (1988) research attempted to change the beliefs of those individuals
resistant to persuasion (Swann et al., 1988). They constructed questions which
remained consistent with the beliefs of the individual but, more towards an extremist
point of view.

Sir Robert Borden s Role as Canadian Prime Minister
Our first duty is to win, at any cost! Sir Robert Borden played an important role as
Canadian Prime Minister during World War I, and while he is to be praised, he
also to be held accountable for his actions; especially in the passing of Bills
through parliament. Sir Robert Borden had not a great vision but more so a motto
to live up to (to strive for), a country to lead in a worldwide war, and decisions that if
not taken in a certain light, would have disrupted the newly forming peaceful
dominion into a divided house.
Through the study of Dr. Tim Cook s writing, in the Journal of Military and Strategic
Studies, Volume 13, Issue3, Spring 2011, it displays Sir Robert Borden as what would
be a typical well off successful Canadian. He had the belief that he was like many
Canadians and that his task as the Prime Minister during World War I was a single
minded victory and that the country would damn the costs. He had a vision that
Canada would be known as neither a colony nor disputed territory, but as a single
unified nation without a colonial tie to the Empire. He was a solid Prime Minister
for his time, he did what the majority of people would not, and so he was not
exceptional but highly regarded. He went through the challenges and issues head
strong and somehow pulled through, and he transformed soon afterward.
Sir Robert Borden originally was never in politics as his choice of career, but when
the Conservatives called upon him, he was obliged to join. He was very

The Death of Socrates
The Death of Socrates
The Death of Socrates was painted by a French painter . His name was Jacques
Louis David. The painting represents the scene of the death of Greek philosopher
Socrates. He was condemned to die by drinking hemlock for the expression of his
ideas against those of Athens and corrupting the minds of the youth. The painting
also depicts both Plato and Crito, with the former sitting at the edge of the bed and
the latter clutching the knee of Socrates. Socrates had the choice to go into exile and
, hence, give up his philosophic vocation or be sentenced to death by drinking
hemlock. Socrates chose death. In this painting, someone hands a confident Socrates

They may have made Socrates do that to save their own reputation. Having said that,
words are , sometimes, powerless against conservatives. People were very
conservative those times meaning they could not , psychologically, accept new
ideas. It is likely that they felt like they are betraying their ancestors. So Socrates not
being able to convince his ideas may have let him to a suicide too. There are a lot
questions about Socrates and this painting certainly makes you think what Socrates
would want you to think about it. That explains why this painting is controversial to

Essay The Making of Apollo 13
The Making of Apollo 13
When making Apollo 13, Ron Howard s intention was to make his film as exciting
as possible. He wanted to make a chemistry on set that would show throughout the
film. Ron wanted Apollo 13 to be realistic, as well as exciting and enjoyable.
Within the characters, Ron wanted to capture their real personalities. This was done
by the actors (Tom Hanks and Kathleen Quinlan) meeting the real life Jim and
Marilyn Lovell. They each spent a day in their home to help capture the right
characteristics and get a real idea how they felt.
To make the film realistic and scientifically correct, actors and the film crew went to

The layout of mission control in the film is very similar to the real layout of mission

Ron and the actors also met the real crew and used the astronaut s descriptions to help
make the scenes more realistic. They spoke to the astronauts and spent time with
them so they could learn, use and understand the terminology they had to use.
Ron made the film accurate by researching facts, using real events and phrases,
talking to NASA and astronauts.
In addition to being an entertaining film, it will go into records as being a source of

The whole film is not completely accurate. Ron wanted to make the film dramatic

Jack and Fred were good friends; they had no problems with each other. Ron created
the tension between them to add some drama to the storyline.
We are also manipulated in the scene where Jim tells Ken that he won t be going on

Plato s Argument On Notion Of Death According To
Socrates
Part One
Socrates primary emphasis is that death should not be feared as it is the state of
nothingness, and unconsciousness, where people s soul change or migrate from this
world to another one. Apparently, many individuals fear this oblivion, but Socrates
did not, and he referred it as a significant gain, where a person has that peaceful time
to sleep without any disturbances even by their dreams. Again, he viewed it as a
heavenly afterlife, where one gets that judgment from those people who are righteous
in life. Socrates gives various facts and opinions to support his claim that no one who
should ever fear death.
First, he claimed that no individual who knows whether death is the most significant
gift or goodness for human beings (Plato, 2016). It means, if anyone fears their
demise, they might be making an error as they may be limiting their souls from
getting the other better side of life. According to Socrates, this mistake is of having
the mere pretenses of wisdom, where one assumes to know something that in a real
sense they have no hint. Socrates stated that his understanding amounted to knowing
that he knew nothing, and therefore, he had no definite knowledge concerning death.
In support of his assertion, he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, it could be a contrary stand to his claim, which he indicated that death might
be a good thing or a gift that many people are not conversant with. Again, Socrates
stated that, instead of the known social injustice and evils, better take the path of
death, which possibly may lead to a better and happier life. In his defense, a
reasonable person may start to doubt his notion about demise because, if he
genuinely didn t fear this rite of passage, he couldn t have established a defense
dialogue with the judges. However, accepting the verdict was the only appropriate
option for his

Mule Killers
Progress Does Not Always Lead to a Better Life
Life, in the primitive sense of the word, means moving through time towards
inevitable death. Progression, by definition, means development towards a destination
or more advanced state. Life in the emotional aspect explores love, and with love
there will always be shortcomings and complexities. Progression, life, destruction, and
love are themes in the short story Mule Killers by Lydia Peelle. The short story is a
story within a story, and it is first person narration from the point of view of a son
retelling the story of his father and his grandfather. The story thereby tells the stories
of three different generations of men. The setting is in Nashville Tennessee, the time

When the son tells the story he reveals that to develop is not necessarily a good
thing, three weeks after the last load of mules is taken, one of the tractors
overturns on a hill down by the river and nearly kills one of the hands (3). As soon
as the town drove all the mules out and replaced them with tractors it backfired a
helper was almost killed. The son then goes on to say it is not an unexpected
tragedy (3), alluding that the father and grandfather did not really want to progress
but had to, and foresaw bad things to occur. This quote can also be a parallel to the
family as the son was an acciden, , one that could have been predicted since there is
no love in the family. The grandfather drives the help to the hospital and on his way
home there was a car crash, upon seeing his son (the father) he says: Son, you re
gonna see a future I can t even stretch my mind around. Not any of it. I can t even
begin to imagine (4). The grandfather is scared of the future and doubtful of the
progress that is happening, right after the father tells him he is going to have a child,
another tragedy that day. Both accidents demonstrate to them that progress is not
always bettering the state of ones life; the mule killers almost killed someone, and,
similarly, starting a new generation in the family was a mistake.
In that both the grandfather and the father hope to progress in their lives, to be part of
industrialization and to gain control of

Although no standard currently applies to life cycle assessment (LCA) at an
organizational level, main principles of ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards were
used as guidelines. In completing our work, we mainly focused on the following
points of attention:
Are the objectives, scope, and boundaries of the study clearly identified?
Does the study employ a sufficiently comprehensive set of environmental indicators?
Are these indicators relevant for the hospitality sector?
Are the assumptions used clearly identified and reasonable?
Are the sources of data clearly identified and representative?
Is there sufficient analysis of the sensitivity and uncertainty of the results?
Is the report complete, consistent, and transparent?
Are the conclusions appropriate based on the data and analysis?
Objectives and scope of the study
The various objectives of the study are stated in section 1 in a clear way. ACCOR s
decision to consider its direct and indirect environmental impacts at the group level,
as one component of its commitment to the principles of sustainable tourism, and to
go beyond the extensively used but simplistic focus on climate change, is innovative
and forward thinking.

Competition Is An Intrinsic Part Of Human Lives
Competition is an intrinsic part of human lives; it is all around us through sporting
events, job interviews, class rankings, video games, music competitions, and so
on. There is something inside people that creates an odd desire to be the best, and
this creates competition. For example, if someone is at a music competition and
they see a leaderboard, their innate response is that they wish to be at the top of the
leaderboard. In a football season, the goal for a team is to prove they are the best in
the league by making it to the championship game and winning. People are always
trying to prove that they are the best or one of the best at an activity, but finding the
reason behind it takes some digging. Of course, one could say that it is... Show more

When I interviewed Seth Chapman about his competitive gaming, I asked him why
he decided to play competitively rather than in a casual environment, and he replied,
Generally the reason why I keep playing competitive is just because, one, it s
challenging; it always keeps you with the players that are equal to your level so
matches are always interesting (Chapman). First, he provides further proof that
gamers desire challenges when he says the competitive matches are always
interesting as opposed to casual gameplay. More importantly, he reinforces the theory
that humans desire challenge because he enjoys playing in the high pressure matches
of competitive Overwatch more than casual play. Not only is he facing tighter
competition with the opposing team, but he is also faced with the additional
challenge of performing up to par with his teammates since teams are created with
similar skill level between players. Another example of the human need for challenge
is through drum corps, professional marching band organizations. Alex Douglass
plays snare drum in Music City Drum and Bugle Corps where he pays corps fees
after he passes his audition, and he receives nothing in return except being a part
of the corps on tour. I asked Alex why he wanted to do drum corps instead of being
satisfied by high school and college marching band, and he replied, I did drum
corps to perform at a higher level that I couldn t get in high school or college band

Stereotypes In The Film Boyhood
Antoine, Celine, Jesse, and Mason: The Origins of the Characters Who Grow
Alongside Us
This year the film Boyhood (2014) hit the box office and has quickly become
favored by critics and audiences alike. Richard Linklater s concept for a film that
took 12 years to make had been unimaginable to people who had heard whisperings
of it until getting the chance to actually see it clips from it. Why is it so
extraordinary? It follows a young boy year by year as he (and the actor) age from
6 to 18, telling a story of what it s like to grow up and also what it means to be a
parent. The longevity of the project is astounding and sets the movie apart from
anything else that has been released in previous years. But this isn t Linklater s first

In Hollywood movies, we constantly see the use of different actors to portray one
character through different ages. To see the same actors age in sync with the

approaches truth in a way that no other medium can, it can trick us, and even more
so when the films are consistent in the way that Linklater s and Truffaut s are. Their
stories take on a hyperrealism, more so in the case of Linklater where the movies
focus less on specific plot events, but more so on the constant dialogue and the
familiarity of the

could just get tickets to ride a limited amount of times. It is already known that the
wristband is the best way to go if one wants to really enjoy themselves at the fair.
Who would not want to go on the these faboulous dangerous rides more than once?
Definitely not me. I always get the wristband. The first thing I always do is of

The Appeal
Politics has always been a dirty game. Now justice is, too. Although The Appeal by
John Grisham is a fictional book, the author himself claims that there is a certain
truth behind the storyline, as he explains in the author s note. I must say that there is
a lot of truth in this story. This quote especially shocks one when reconsidering the
story and the criminal energy involved. The book impresses the reader with a story
based on corruption and money.

This is then the point when a mysterious organization comes into the story changing
Carl s chances by buying a seat in the court deciding on the case, by recruiting and
financing a unsuspecting candidate.
One may argue that this book was too long and partly too descriptive in both the
storyline and the characters, which made it hard to follow the storyline throughout
the book.
Grisham s intend is clearly to sensitize and focus his readers on corruption in the
sections companies, politics and justice. As long as private money is allowed in
judicial elections we will see competing interests fight for seats on the bench.
Grisham highlights this point so often throughout the book that one clearly notices
his concern of corruption in the judicial system because of money. The book changes
its pace very rapidly from chapter to chapter therefor the narrative style reminds one
of an appeal in a court with constantly changing perceptions and argumentations.
John Grisham wrote the book in a way that the reader constantly switches between
the parallel stories of the two lawyers and Carl Trudeau and his company.
The way in which john Grisham writes, lures the reader into a feeling that the actual
story is true and happening while one is reading. The book brings both the
interesting parts of a trial into one s understanding as well as the boring paperwork

the 1999 repeal of the Glass Steagall Act, which split commercial banking from

Importance Of Formative Assessment

planning. As for summative assessment, Earl, L. (2004), defines it as the assessment
which is frequently used to give grades and marks to learners for academic and
administrative decisions .
3.1.1 From Assumption 1 to 3:
To come back to the achievements of this research, hypothesis 1 revealed that the

It is also what the trainer does for the present learners to have the expected behavior!
Formative assessment gives room to corrections, training adaptation in order to meet
the learners needs. How do we explain the trainers failure to exploit what looks like
a formative assessment? Is it not a proof of trainers ignorance of assessment rules?
Certainly, it was not wrong to use the information deriving from the current training
for further improvements, but improvements, if any, should start with the present
participants. Indeed, we did not find it too professional to ignore the present learners
by failing to give them a feedback on their learning, but rather using their feedback for
the benefit of future learners. Black, P. William (1999) insists on the fact that
summative assessment implies the provision of effective feedback to learners, the
active involvement of learners in their own learning, the adjustment of teaching to
take assessment results into account. What was hidden behind this non exploitation
of formative assessment? Was it not a mark of ignorance in the use of formative
assessment?
Conclusion:
To end completely with this point, for us formative assessment should be fully used
throughout the whole training session in order to remedy possible weaknesses and
insufficiencies of the training. Thus, the learners

Religious Freedom Policy Paper
Religious Freedom Policy Paper
A topic of great controversy is that of religion and the freedoms that are and are not
associated with it. The first amendment of the Constitution states that Congress shall
make no law of respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise
thereof. The State of Indiana has a Senate Bill that is titled the Religious Freedom
Restoration Act, which contains a law that consents individuals and companies to
assert that their exercise of religion has been, or is likely to be, substantially
burdened as a defense in legal proceedings (Cohn). As this is obviously a
commonly debated issue, there are many points for and against the policy. Governor
Mike Pence singed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act last week and created an
array of responses from the public. He claims that he signed the act because he
supports the freedom of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The issue of legalizing same sex marriage is one thing, but denying service to
someone because of their sexual orientation is a completely different topic. I think
that denying a person a marital ceremony could be because of religious beliefs.
However, a person s sexual orientation does not affect any other person, nor does it
affect the way they should be served or treated in a public setting. The United
States is a free country so people should be able to express themselves however
they want to. If an employee is given the ability to deny service to a person because
of something this small, people will eventually be able to deny service to people for
all kinds of pointless reasons. We should be uniting together as a state and giving fair
treatment to all citizens, instead of discriminating and only offering certain services
to people who we see worthy of receiving them. I believe that the government should
continue working to get this law vetoed to eliminate more problems in the

Character Analysis Of Bigger Thomas
Of the many characters, the audience gets to know in native son, Bigger Thomas, the
main character is the most complex. Bigger is the way he is because of his
insecurities and fears, as well as his environment and the discrimination he faces.
Bigger Thomas struggles with negotiating the different formulations of his identity
which are thrown into disarray by a segregated, inequitable and frequently hostile
society. The instability of Bigger s identity is shown to be a product of psychological
disorientation engendered by the environment of racial terror which he must cope.
(Elder 1)
Bigger has no mental focus because of his supremacist society and the absence of
opportunity towards African Americans. The greater part of his brutal contemplations
are generally parts of his actual character or his previous lifestyle that have been
gathering because of the scorn he conveys within himself (Butler structure 3). Bigger
also displays anxiety throughout the majority of the novel. The first instance is when
bigger cannot go through the robbery he and his gang had planned. He is filled with
fear and immense anxiety. Resulting him in lashing out violently. Showing the
audience he is not as fearless as he depicts himself to be. Bigger has all the qualities
of being an alternate individual when he arrives at the Dalton home. He changes his
method of speaking. He uses yessuh and nawsuh . As if he had created an alternate
personality, creating a behavior that is acceptable for

Arguments Against Gun Ownership
In the aspect of the business world and day to day life there are many U.S. civilians
who have made the choice to own firearms for self defense. Those who oppose gun
ownership believe that these gun owners are a threat to themselves and others
because they have exposure to firearms, so is this the case? Statistically I would
say no. Women can be subject to sexual abuse which is awful, and as a general
whole, men tend to be stronger and able to over power a women and take
advantage of them. It would seem reasonable for women to have a system to
provide themselves with a mechanical advantage over these men. Well according to
Kleck and Gertz a group of profesores who study firearmviolence at Florida State
University as many as 200,000 women use

A Summary Of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Kimmy Schmidt a young, naive girl who comes to New York City in escape from
her kidnapper. Kimmy is seeking to make a name for herself in the big city with
nothing. After discovering that she was a doomsday cult survivor, Kimmy tries to
live every moment to the fullest. In Unbreakable:Kimmy Schmidt, Tina Fey, the
director, portrays Kimmy as having an outwardly colorful soul after coming up from
the bunker, but in reality Kimmy is just attempting to live the lost life of the teenager
that she never could discovered in the bunker.
An interview with E!, Ellie Kemper had this to say about her character Kimmy:
Bad things will happen. That s what life is, but the ability to overcome that and
surmount it and let those experiences define you is, I think, what makes [Kimmy]
so inspiring. 1 Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is full of obscure and selfish
characters. Many of these characters have no sense of a moral compass and each
character comes with a unique backstory on life. While Unbreakable Kimmy
Schmidt is written in a comedic style and is absolutely the goofiest show you will
come accross, Tina Fey frequently aims and shoots at controversial subject targets, in
order to have her opinion heard.
Feminism and race/sexuallity play an immense in shaping the story structure for.
Feminism is a major part of Kimmy s discovery of the new world , and Tina Fey
makes sure she uncovers this in a very monotoned sense. At one point in the show, a
random New yorker guy hits on Kimmy by

Comparing the Use of Light and Dark by Melville, Poe,

Use of Darkness and Light by Melville, Poe, and Hawthorne
Melville, Poe, and Hawthorne all tend to focus on the darker side of humanity in
their writings. In order to allow their readers to better understand their opinions, they
often resort to using symbolism. Many times, those symbols take the form of
darkness and light appearing throughout the story at appropriate times. A reader
might wonder how light functions in the stories, and what it urges the reader to
consider. If we look carefully at these appearances of light, or more likely the
absence of it, we can gain some insight into what these subversive romantics consider
to be the truth of humanity. Hawthorne uses this technique to its fullest; however, it is
also very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Melville explained in his essay Hawthorne and his Mosses : this great power of
blackness in him derives its force from its appeals to that Calvinistic sense of Innate
Depravity and Original Sin, from whose visitations, in some shape or other, no
deeply thinking mind is always and wholly free. Melville is claiming that this is a
part of Hawthorne the man, but this undoubtedly carries over into his work as well.
If this wasn t enough symbolism, Hawthorne soon introduces us to the people that
YGB encounters on his journey. In his book Power of Darkness, Levin suggests
that in this piece, the darkness is symbolic of the deep mystery of sin (54). The
people who are representative of the sins are those who are cloaked in darkness, and
who appear grave and dark clad to the reader the elder witches. Considering that the
story deals with the loss of faith replaced by doubt (Levin, 54), we can only assume
that these dark clothed characters represent the sin that humanity has brought upon
itself. YGB has been drawn to the sin, but hasn t yet partaken of it he doesn t actually
join the witches in the end. Nonetheless, Hawthorne wants us to understand that he
was drawn to the dark side of human nature, with all it appears to promise, and yet
turned it away at the last minute to the goodness (represented by the light pink color
of Faith s ribbons).
Another Hawthorne tale that uses light and

happening more frequently in this world nowadays. Business is one of the most
impacted fields of globalization. For the best development and other reasons, more
and more businesses have enhanced their businesses from local market or their own
countries to global width by mergers and acquisitions. Meanwhile, the conflicts of the
mergers and acquisitions occurred as their predictable and unavoidable consequences,
leaders and managers should be able to understand conflicts, indentify and classify
them, and also solve conflicts and dilemmas. There are many kinds of conflicts and

originally considered having two headquarters, but we realized we need to send a
strong, clear message to our investors. So we chose a global location for our

executive member issues could not cover the conflicts between oriental and western

Pros And Cons Of Animal Adoption
In the world today, over four million animals are euthanized yearly. There are a few
different options on how someone can retrieve their new fur baby such as adopting
from a shelter and buying from a puppy store. There are plenty of pros and cons of
adopting and buying from stores such as saving animals, cheaper prices, finding what
s comfortable, supporting puppy mills, and foul treatment of animals. In order to
rescue and to stop supporting puppy mills that lead to indecent animals. I believe that
people should begin to stop shopping and to open their minds to adoption. Shelters
are always full of dogs and cats patiently waiting for their perfect owner to find
them, but most never make it out. There are No Kill Shelters and there are High Kill
Shelter and unfortunately most of those who enter the High Kill Shelters never make
it out. The major aspect about adopting is giving a loyal animala second chance at
life. A pro for adoption is the fact that you get to rescue an animal that may have been
next in line for the euthanasia list.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you plan on intending to buy a bully breed you must go through processing. This
involves plenty of interviews and questions to determine if you are the right fit for
the animal. The way this can go wrong is that you may not be selected to receive
the animal. Another way that can make adopting a pain is that you may not find
the breed you were intending on buying. This can make the process of retrieving
your furry friend much longer. Lastly, your new friend may reject you and turn out
completely different than you would have expected, but it takes time and patience
to learn about one another. The main exception of buying from a store is that you
are most likely going to get the breed you intend on getting right then and there.
Puppy stores usually do not scan like adoption centers do. So, you will be approved
for the sale of the

Franklin Delano Roosevelt
First of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear
itself. In his Inaugural Address, Franklin Delano Roosevelt spoke these words to
ensure America that he would end the Depression. He no longer wanted Americans
to be afraid of the failing economy and unemployment that was causing them to
suffer. He immediately wanted to gain their trust and give them hope that their
struggles would soon be over. Not only did he make Americans believe that things
could get better, but he actually did make things better. As soon as FDR entered
office, he got to work and began lifting America out of the Depression within only a
few days of being president. From these first few days of his presidency, to the
twelfth year,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without Social Security, many Americans could not have survived the Depression
and many Americans today could not survive. Social Security provides protection
for Americans so if they ever cannot work, they know they will be to survive.
Roosevelt is responsible for helping to create Social Security which helped to pull
America out of the depression. He helped struggling Americans get back on their
feet in one of the worst economic time periods in history, and for that he deserves to
be recognized with a presidential rating of 4 out of 5.
Overall, Franklin D. Roosevelt was a hardworking, excellent president who helped
America through a terrible time period. However, like many presidents, he did make
some mistakes. One of his greatest known mistakes was known as Court Packing.
This issue started because the Supreme Court did not support many parts of
Roosevelt s New Deal. The court began to declare several acts, including Social
Security, as unconstitutional which infuriated FDR. He noticed that there was a
specific group of elderly men that was against most of his ideas and policies, and
they were causing his acts not to be approved. In order to fix this, FDR created what
became known as the Court Packing Policy. This policy declared that if any member
of the court did not retire within six months after turning 70, a new member could be
added to the court. With this

Giza Informative Speech
Intro
Hi there! Welcome in the east wing! This wing is all going to be about the 7
wonders of the ancient world. You will find the Great Pyramid of Giza, The
lighthouse of Alexandria, the temple of Artemis at Ephesus and so on! Some of
them you might know about and well ... some of them you didn t! So now stop
reading this and have fun going back in time!
The great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt
The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest monument on the list of the 7 wonders of the
ancient world. It is also the last one standing.
The great pyramid was built between 2584 and 2561 BCE for the fourth dynasty
Khufu (in Greek; Cheops). It took approximately 20 years and 20,000 workers to
complete the construction. But they never used slaves. Lots of farmers ... Show more

All the bluestones for the construction are imported from places up to 225 km! So
how did they manage to get stones that weigh more than 25 tons to the place where
they are now? It s still a mystery. There are some speculations that it s done with
boats or partially by glaciers.
Funfact: Stonehenge went on the auction block in 1915. It s previous owner died in
WWI. It was sold for В Ј 6600, and three years later donated to the British
government.
Statue of Athena in the Parthenon
The statue of Athena in the Parthenon is also not on the list of the 7 wonders of the
ancient world. But with the fact that the Parthenon itself is an amazing structure
ALSO The statue of Athena used to be standing there...How can it not be on the list??
The magnificent temple in Athens was built between 447 and 432 B.C. It was
dedicated to their goddess Athena (Goddess of wisdom, craft and war).
The temple was constructed to give a home to the statue of Athena, which is also
made by Pheidias. The statue was dedicated to her for her contribution by the
victories in the Persian Wars. It was more than 12 meters high and was mate of
ivory (for the body) and gold (for the armor). She was fully armed. In her right hand
she held or Nike (Victory) or an owl (Wisdom). In her left hand she held her

Essay The Sermon on the Mountain
The word of Jesus found in Luke 6:20 26 are the opening statements of His Sermon
on the Plain. As with any other passage there are translation differences, literary,
historical, linguistic, economic and sociological backgrounds for this passage. It is
sometimes difficult to discern the original, or real, meaning of biblical passages and
Luke 6:20 26, and beatitudesin general, are no different.
The Sermon on the Mount, found in Mark 5 7, is generally referred to as the greatest
sermon ever preached. Jesus begins His sermon by stating the eight beatitudes, and
the passage in Luke 6:20 26 contains a subset of these beatitudes combined with a
corresponding set of woes.
There are two genres used in this passage. Each of the first four ... Show more content

The first three beatitudes (blessings for the poor, hungry, and weeping; verses 20
21) has same wording in the NIV and the NASB and the only textual difference in
the NLT is the beginning of God blesses. Verse 22 (blessings for the persecuted)
expresses blessing for the hated, excluded, insulted, and rejected in the NIV; the
hated, excluded mocked, and cursed in the NLT; and the hated, ostracized,
insulted and scorned in the NASB. A common attributed of the persecuted among
the NIV, the NLT, and the NASB is hated, and the remaining three vary. Verse 23
contains no significant textual differences among the NIV, the NLT, and the
NASB. Like the first three beatitudes, the first three woes (woe to the rich, well
fed, and laughing; verses 24 25) are the same in the NIV and the NASB, but the
NLT uses, what sorrows await you are to describe the woes. In verse 26, woe is
expressed for those who everyone speaks well of in the NIV, for those who are
praised by the crowds in the NLT, and those who all men speak well of in the NASB.
(Note that any biblical quotation from this point forward, unless otherwise indicated,
is quoted from the New International Version published in 2011.)
The tense of the beatitudes and their corresponding woes can also be explored. The
first and fourth of the beatitudes and their woes describe a blessing or woe that is
