Contributory personality devlopment topic :- ETHICAL ISSUES OF CLONING PREPARED BY :- Premal Vaghela
Presentation outline………. Introdutction of cloning . Types of cloning . Advantages of cloning . Disadvantages of cloning . What are ethical issues of cloning ? Conclusion
Introduction of cloning Cloning describe processes used to exact genetic replica of stem cells, tissues or organism. The copied material, which has the same makeup as the original, is referred to as a clone.
Types of cloning There are three types of cloning Gene cloning Reproductive cloning Therapeutic cloning Gene cloning :- Gene cloning creates copies of genes or segments of DNA. It can identify genetic abnormalities. Reproductive cloning :- Reproductive cloning creates copies of whole animals. Therapeutics cloning :- Therapeutic cloning creates embryonic stem cells. It is for medical use. Researchers hope to use these cells to grow healthy tissue to replace injured or diseased tissues in the human body.
Advantages of cloning Provide organs for transplantation Solution for infertility Increasing populations of endangered species Genetic engineering Provide treatment for different diseases Research purposes The healthiness of infants
Advantages of cloning Improving food supply Reverse the aging process Cosmetic surgery Some disadvantages are the uncertainty of science technology, the great diseases and leading to extinction .
Disadvantages of cloning Loosing the diversity of genes Inbreeding Risk of abuse The uncertainly of science of technology Potential costs Research cloning Health risks A type of parental control The element of uncertainly
What are ethical issues of cloning ? There are also ethical issues such as unnatural acts, changing the diversity of society and risks of abuse and exploitations. There are some ethical issues of cloning , which is given below. Closed future Unnatural way Risk of abuse Morally wrong to kill or extend life Not the exact same animal Genetic disorders Pollute the diversity Unknown identity of child Clash with religious principles Two classes of peoples
Ethical issues of cloning Different personalities Worsen the wellbeing of animals Some other worlds views Canada :- prohibits ;any type of human cloning that would duplicate a human being Costa rica :- prohibits; any types of manipulation or alteration of an embryo’s genetic code is prohibited ,as is any kind of experimentation with embryos. Panama :- prohibits; financing ,promotion ,donating ,experiments research of any kind of cloning United kingdom :- prohibits ;placing a human embryo into a woman
continue……………. Argentina :- prohibits; experiments concerning cloning of human cells in order to generate human being.
conclusion As seen from the information above, cloning is still not an advanced technology. There are a lot of risks involved that concern the health of the humans and the clones. Although cloning can make us immortal, in the long run, it will cause overpopulation in the world Cloning is useful to us and it can destroy us. There are both sides to cloning which we must consider very seriously before we legalize or ban it The government must ensure that cloning is not used for the wrong and unethical purposes Human lives are very important. We must not devalue our lives.
