5. BIOGRAPHY Charles Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, Western England in 1809. In 1831, he received his B.A. degree. One of the professors named Henslow recommended that Darwin must join the crew of a survey ship HMS Beagle . At the age of 22, he started to sail with Capt. FitzRoy.

6. The five-year voyage of the Beagle has its primary mission was to chart poorly known stretches of the South American coastline.
