Mandy and the Story of Courage This is me, Mandy. I m a twelve year old girl. I
have brown hair always in pigtails. Sadly, I m an orphan because when I was two,
my parents thought I wasn t good enough for them. But look on the bright side, I m
in a cool, small orphanage with the manager, Ms. Lomesto, in charge. I actually
made these cool two friends Lisa and Betty, but they aren t that right for me
because they always want to sneak out of the orphanage. I m not smart like them,
so it doesn t work. Anyway, my dream is to go to the Fun Fair because of the cotton
candy, the games, and the prizes! But that will never happen because we can t escape
the orphanage. Anyway, one day Lisa, Betty and I were sitting for lunch until they

No, it s not, Betty replied. Well, I m gonna give it a tiny no, I said, and I walked
away, rolling my eyes, heading to my room. Then I saw Ms. Lomesto. She said,
Mandy, go outside and pick up the mail, please, so I went to get the mail. When I
got it, I read, Free Fun Fair Tickets on Anise Road. Last Call! So I looked both ways
and went there, but then, nothing was there. All I saw was construction. I looked
at the mail again: on Shervine Road. I read it wrong. I ran as fast as I could, so I d
make it in time before they noticed. When I made it, I noticed that I didn t say
sorry for leaving Lisa and Betty, and still, nothing was there. I looked at the mail
again and it read, Edited by George. That meant it was all fake, so I went back. When
I was back, Lisa said, Where were you? Well. . .
