BASIC DANCE STEPS MR. LEONARDO P. ASUNCION, JR.

ARM POSITIONS 1. First Position – Both arms in a circle form in front of the chest, with finger tips about an inch apart. Elbow slightly bent.

2. Second Position – Arms raised sideward with a graceful curve, a little below shoulder level.

3. Third Position – One arm remains in second position. Raise one arm overhead.

4. Fourth Position – Raise one arm in front of the chest in a half-circle, the other arm remains overhead.

5. Fifth Position – Raise both arms overhead

FEET POSITIONS 1. First Position – Heels close together, toes apart.

2. Second Position – Feet apart, about a step or a pace from each other.

3. Third Position – Heel of one foot close to in-step of other foot.

4. Fourth Position – One foot in front of the other foot, about a pace distance.

5. Fifth Position – Heel of front foot close to the big toe of the rear foot .

OTHER ARM POSITIONS 1. Amplified – More open positions on first or fifth positions

2. Lateral – Raise both arms at one side parallel to each other.

3. Hayon-hayon – Bend one arm in front of waist level. Bend other hand behind, also at waist level.

4. “T” Position – Raise both arms as sides and bend at elbows so that the upper arm are at shoulder level.

5. Reverse “T” – Both arms at sides and bend at elbows so that the forearms are parallel to the head, with palms facing inwards.
