Experiencing an SBL- lesson
Illustrations of SBL- lessons Over to action: Theatre and writing dialogues. Form groups of 6. Read the goals and the rubric of the lesson. Read the first column of the first part in group. Order the assignments, based on what you LIKE to do. Read the other assignments (2 nd and 3 rd column). Connect the assignments of the first column to the assignments of the second column. Do the same for the third column. Why do we sometimes have fewer assignments in the second and third column?
Illustrations of SBL- lessons Start with the first part of the lesson Work together in your group (per assignment). You can skip what everyone knows. You can divide the work when necessary, but everyone must achieve all the objectives of the lesson. If we are coming to your table, ignore us. If you have questions, maybe we are not going to answer them. Sometimes you get ‘a message from above’. When a combination of assignments is not clear, search for a solution. Repeat the steps in the previous slide for part 2 before doings so for part 3.
Reflection and evaluation Use the form ‘evaluation with feelings’: Choose one of the feelings Figure out when you felt like this the most during the lesson (During the whole lesson is not a valid answer.) Use the form of the OICO-principle: Choose one of the learning strategies Figure out what you learned using that strategy. Reflections on the role of the teacher/trainer What did they do? What did they do not? Analysis of the behaviour of the participants by the teacher/trainer.
