LIFE CYCLE OF A FROG
Eggs Froglet
Frogs are remarkable creatures that undergo an
amazing transformation from egg to adult. Their
life cycle is a captivating journey showcasing
nature's wonders. Understanding this process
highlights the complexity of amphibian life and
underscores the importance of each stage in their
development and survival.
FROGS
EGGS
We start with the egg stage.
Frog eggs are tiny, jelly-like
blobs that float in water.
They’re so small, but they’re
the start of something
amazing!
Next, we see the tadpoles. These
look like fish with long tails and
no legs. They love to swim and eat
plants in the water. They’re
getting ready for their big
transformation.
TADPOLE
FROGLET
Look at this! The tadpole is
now a froglet. Froglets still
have tails, but they start to
grow legs. They begin to
explore the land and get
ready for their next big
change.
The young frog grows front legs. Its
tail becomes shorter until it is no
longer there. Its body gets longer. Its
head gets larger. It starts to be able to
breathe underwater too.
YOUNG FROG
ADULT FROG
Finally, we have the adult frog! This is the
frog that you might see in your backyard.
It can hop, eat inseacts swim, and even
make croaking sounds.
And guess what? The cycle starts all over
again when it lays eggs!
