Research Design

and midwives’ perspectives in a specific Baranggay in

contexts (Heale & Twycross, 2018).

and midwives’ perspectives in a selected Baranggay in
Guinayangan, Quezon.
○ It captures subjective experiences, motivations, challenges,
and outcomes of home birth, considering cultural, social, and
healthcare factors.

contributes to existing knowledge.
Participants/ Sampling Procedure
○ Purposive sampling was used to recruit diverse
participants, enriching the research findings (Rai &
Thapa, 2015).
○ Five women with varied backgrounds and
experiences of home birth were included.
○ Two midwives were also included to provide
valuable insights.
○ Purposive sampling ensures authentic
representation and enhances the credibility of the
study (Rai & Thapa, 2015).
Data Collection Method
○ Semi-structured interviews were conducted in participants’
preferred locations, lasting 11-20 minutes and audio-recorded
with consent (Magaldi & Berler, 2020).
○ The interviews covered reasons for choosing home birth,
unique experiences, support received, and challenges faced.
○ Thorough transcription and in-vivo coding techniques will
capture participants’ stories authentically (Magaldi & Berler,
2020).
○ This study explores home birth experiences in a selected
Baranggay in Guinayangan, Quezon, contributing to existing
knowledge in the field.
Ethical Issues
○ Ethical concerns were addressed, ensuring participant safety
and respect (Arifin, 2018).
○ Participants provided informed consent and their privacy was
protected.
○ Participants had the freedom to withdraw from the study
without consequences.
○ Adherence to ethical norms builds trust and respect (Arifin,
2018).
○ This study prioritizes ethical considerations, respecting
participant rights and dignity.
Data Analysis
○ Thematic analysis will uncover common themes
and patterns in home birth experiences
(Alhojailan, 2012; Waeraas, 2022).
