EIC Export inspection council of India (EIC) was established in 1964 under the export act 1963 (Quality control & Inspection). EIC advices the Central Govt. On measures to be taken for development of export trade through quality control and pre-shipment Inspection. 1.mumbai 2.Delhi 3.Chennai 4.Kolkata 5.Kochi.
EIA EIA(Export inspection Agency) is established in 1966 by Cental Govt. Under section 7 of the Act EIA is a Field Organization of EIC EIA operates under technical and administrative control of EIC.
Services provided by EIC Certification of product Quality in accordance with Norms and Legislation by i)Consignment-Wise Inspection(CWI). ii)In-Process Quality Control(IPQC). iii)Self Certification(SC).
Cont... Consignment wise inspection: Under this system, each consignment, in packed condition, is subjected to detailed inspection by the Export Inspection Agencies. In process quality control: These are checks that are carried out before the manufacturing process is completed.
III) Self Certification: Under the self Certification Scheme, large exporters and manufacturers are allowed to inspect their product without involving any other party .

Regulations for export of fishery product to European union Regulation (EC) 2073/2005 -to limit the certain parameters in food Fishery products-Histamine 100mg/kg. Cooked crustacean-Salmonella Nil/25g. E.coli-1Cfu/g. Staphylococcus aureus -100Cfu/g.
2. Regulation (EC) 466/2001 -to limit some metals and toxic metals in fish product. Lead: Crustacean-0.5ppm. Bivalve,molluscs-1.0ppm. Cephalopods-1.0ppm. Muscle meat of fish-0.2/0.4ppm.
3. Regulation (EC) 2023/2006: Printed inks applied to Non-Food contact surfaces should not transferred to food contact side. GMP to be adopted for storage & Handling of Printed Materials/Printing or Marketing articles Printed surface should not come in Contact with food contact surface.
4. Commission Decision (EC) 95/149- limits of TVB-N was laid for certain species of fishes 25mg of Nitrogen/100gm of flesh of Sebastes ssp. , Helicolenus,Dactylopterus,etc . 30mg of Nitrogen/100g of flesh of species belonging to Pleuronectidae family. 35mg of nitrogen/100g of flesh Salmosalar species belonging to family Merluucaidae .
