1. Rubrospinal Tracts: 🔻Formed by axons of Red nucleus present in 🧠 Mid Brain 🔻 Fibers Cross to opposite side in the Tegmentum of mid brain 🔻 constituting the Ventral Tegmentum Decussation. 🔻Fibers Descend through pons & medulla and enters the Lateral White column of spinal cord. Red nucleus
2. Medial Reticulospinal Tracts:- 🔻 Formed by Fibers from Reticular formation in pons. 🔻Descends to cervical segments only. 🔻lies in the Anterior White column of spinal cord. 🔻contains uncrossed fibers
3. Lateral Reticulospinal Tracts:- 🔻originates from Reticular formation in brainstem. 🔻 Descends upto thoracic segments of spinal cord. 🔻 contains both crossed & uncrossed fibers 🔻lies in Anterolateral White column of spinal cord.
4.Olivospinal Tracts:- 🔻 originates from Inferior olivory nucleus in medulla oblongata 🔻Lies in Anterolateral White column of spinal cord
5. Vestibulospinal Tracts:- 🔻Arise from Lateral Vestibular nucleus 🔻 present at ponto- medullary junction 🔻 Descends Uncrossed 🔻Lies in Anterior White column of spinal cord
6. Tectospinal Tracts:- 🔻originates from superior cellicular of mid brain. 🔻Fibers Cross to opposite side forming 'Dorsal Tegmental Decussation ' in mid Brain 🔻Lies in Anterior White column
1. Regulation and integration of voluntary motor activity 2. Regulation and maintenance of muscle tone 3. Regulation and maintenance of emotional & associative movement Functions
🔻Involuntary motor activity: Rhythmic & regular (Static tremor) Injury in Extra pyramidal Tracts: Dysrhythemic & irregular (chorea ,athetosis, dystonia) 🔻loss of swinging during walking 🔻 Bradykinesia
