MECHANICAL(HVAC) HVAC FIRE FIGHTING HEATING VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING(HVAC): Parts of HVAC: Compressor Condenser Expansion valve Evaporator coil
HVAC COOLING CYCLE Compressor: It converts the low-pressure warm vapor into high pressure hot vapor by increasing the pressure. Condenser: It converts the vapor into liquid form by eliminating the refrigerant heat by extracting the heat to the atmosphere.
HVAC COOLING CYCLE Expansion valve: It reduces the Refrigerant’s temperature by reducing the pressure . Evaporator : It converts the low-pressure liquid form refrigerant into low pressure vapor form refrigerant by absorbing the heat from the return air.
HVAC DEFINITIONS: AHU- Air Handling Unit. FAHU- Fresh air Handling Unit. FCU- Fan Coil Unit. VRV- Variable Refrigerant Volume. VRF- Variable refrigerant Flow. VAV- Variable air Volume. CAV- Constant air Volume. VCD- Volume Control Damper. HVAC UNITS: CFM - Cubic feet per minute. BTU- British Thermal Unit. MBH- Mean breast Hour. RH- Relative Humidity. PSI- Pounds per square inch. L/S- Litter per second. TR - Ton of Refrigeration

Formulas Degree Celsius to Fahrenheit: F=(9/5 X C °)+32 Fahrenheit to Degree Celsius: C°=(F-32 )+5/9 Air Balancing: CFM= M/S X 1000 X area X 2.1189. M/S – Anemometer value. Area- Grill Size(length X Width). Water Balancing: L/s= (√PD X KVS)/36. PD- Mano meter value, KVS- DRV valve value, 36- Constant value.
Ducting Accessories: MFD- Motorized fire damper: It has a thermal sensor also to shut the damper It is used as an automatic shut-off device to prevent fire and smoke from spreading through ducting  passing through walls and floors. During normal operation, the damper blade is open to enable air passage through the ventilation system. MSD- Motorized smoke damper: It can work in fire condition also. Which will be in closed condition normally and in case of smoke fan running condition it will be open. FD- Fire damper: Which will be in open condition normally with the help of meltable filament which will melt incase of fire hence it makes the damper close. NRD- Non return damper: They are used to prevent backflow and relieve pressure through ventilation and duct  systems.
