Definition of terms Family – basic unit of the society * a group of one or more parents and their children living together as a unit Community - group of people who are socially interdependent , who participate together in discussion and decision making, and who share certain practices that both define the community and are nurtured by it.

WORKING WITH FAMILY provide services to families in crisis that need help fixing problems that interfere with family harmony These bonds are important because family  helps us get through the most disastrous times and the best times . Family is important because they can offer support and security coupled with unconditional love; they will always look to see and bring out the best in you even if you cannot see it for yourself

Family centered approach H andling the major difficulties encountered by contemporary families of which the individual is a member Family is the center of the field of action and the unit of interest. S ocial worker is concerned with the person in the environment The social worker who is involved in family centered practice take on a variety of roles and many also need to work with other systems that have influence on the family in order to achieve their objectives . These other systems may include the school, the hospital, as well as other systems that exert influence in the family.

Community organizing Community organizing is a method of engaging and empowering people of a community and bringing them together into an organization that acts in their shared self-interest. The organizers are typically people from the community or advocacy groups . The goal of community organizing is to generate durable power for an organization representing the community, allowing it to influence key decision-makers on various issues. It also focuses on distributing power more equally throughout the community.

The Social Worker Role and Impact on the Community People and their communities have the best understanding of the required social services that may remedy their day-to-day challenges. This is why a holistic approach to the social worker role asks the people how they want to shape their solutions . S ocial worker responsibility is to talk to communities about their core challenges, ideate and provide capacities to overcome these challenges and create a route for sustainable financial growth and independence.
