BREAD  Bread has been a prominent food in large parts of the world, and is one of the oldest man-made foods, having been of significant importance since the dawn of agriculture. Furthermore, bread plays an essential role in both religious rituals and secular culture. This list does not include cakes, pastries, or fried dough foods, which are listed in separate Wikipedia articles. It also does not list foods in which bread is an  ingredient  which is processed further before serving.

SOME OF THE FAMOUS BREADS AROUND THE WORLD

FRENCH BAGUETTE, FRANCE French Baguette bread is a long thin loaf of French bread with crusty taste.  The bread is made of wheat, yeast, water and salt.  Baguette is also used for making amazing sandwiches and is widely sold in the street of Paris with baguette and Jam.

PITA BREAD, MIDDLE EAST Pita bread is a fluffy flat bread made with flour, water, yeast and salt.  The bread is baked in hot oven, it fluffs up and eventually flattens and cool.  Compared to other breads hence is it widely used on day to day basis in all Arabic Countries.  The bread can be used to eat with meats, falafel, shawarma and salads.

BAGEL, POLAND The bread is hand made as the it requires round shape with round hope in the middle.  The bagel bread is made of wheat dough.  The flour is mixed with water and baked.  Bagels are the only bread that are boiled before they are baked.  The reason there is a round hole in middle is so that it allows the surface area and makes the bagel more crust formation and helps in cooking faster.

TORTILLA, MEXICO Corn tortilla or Tortilla is made of Maize flour. It is a thin, flat bread. The bread is so versatile that in every Mexican dish you it is compulsory to have Tortilla. It serves in various types of Tacos. They are made from white, yellow, blue or red corns.

FOCASSIA, USA Focaccia is a flat oven baked Italian bread. Focaccia can be used for making sandwiches, meals or snacks. Focaccia is made with same dough one similar to pizza but this is with thicker crust.  It can be served hot with olive oil, onion, roasted tomatoes and salt sprinkled to it and it is wonderfully tasty to eat. INJERA, ETHOPIA Injera bread is made of Teff flour, a grain whose name is derived from the Amharic word “ yatafa ,” which means “lost” in English.  It a flat bread with soft texture which makes it rich in sauces and strews.  The flour is mixed with water and fermented for several days for making it spongy and tangy taste.  The food is served on top of Injera as it used as table cloth. It is used for gripping food.

CHALLAH, ISRAEL Challah is a special braided bread, typically eaten on the Sabbath and other major Jewish holidays. The braids are meant to resemble intertwined arms symbolizing love. Traditionally, a small portion of the challah dough is removed during preparation and burned for a blessing ritual. This decorative bread is made from eggs and topped with poppy seeds and sesame seeds.

PRETZEL, GERMANY Soft pretzels are a type of baked bread traditionally twisted into a knot-like shape and sprinkled with salt. This type of bread has been around for centuries and, along with the classic twisted shape, has variations including pretzel buns, pretzel nuggets and pretzel dogs.

RYE BREAD, EUROPE Rye bread was popular throughout Europe during the Middle Ages. It can be made into many different variations, including flat rye breads, multigrain bread with caraway seeds mixed in or German pumpernickel, and it can be served many different ways in all meals.

PUMPERNICKEL, GERMANY Pumpernickel is a heavy, dark and sweet type of rye bread that originated in present-day Germany. The bread began being known as pumpernickel after it was served to German soldiers during the Thirty Years War and they would suffer indigestion from this "peasant bread."

NAAN BREAD, SOUTH ASIA Naan is a leavened, baked flatbread native to South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East. It's a staple of Indian cuisine and served in a variety of flavors with various curries, spices and fillings, but is commonly served hot and brushed with butter.

CRUMPET, UK Crumpet is a small cake made from flour, yeast and water or milk and has a spongy texture.  It tastes like muffin but it is much lighter than that. It has a smooth round bottom and small holes on top of it.   Crumpets can be eaten with butter, peanut butter, jam, marmalade, lemon yogurt, melted cheese, honey, chocolate sauce, or even ice cream.

CORNBREAD, US Unlike most types of bread, cornbread is not made from yeast. Instead, it is heavy with cornmeal and relies on baking powder to leaven or ferment and rise. The recipe originated with the Native Americans and was adopted by English settlers. Today, cornbread is a popular side in the southern U.S.

CIABATTA BREAD, ITALY Ciabatta is white bread made from wheat flour,  salt , yeast and water.  It's distinguishable due to its airy inside and crisp outside, which is similar to French baguettes. This bread is often served alongside olive oil and its fluffy interior soaks the oil right up.

BRIOCHE BREAD, FRANCE The rich and tender brioche is light, fluffy and crumbly because of its high content of butter and eggs. This bread is centuries old and so rich that it's delicious served plain with butter, but it is even better when made into desserts such as bread pudding or pain au chocolate.  It's also sometimes used as a base for delicate and buttery foie gras.

PARATHA, INDIA Paratha is a flat bread made with wheat flour.  Wheat flour is mixed with oil and water and are made on nonstick pan with oil or ghee and served hot with curry.  Parathas can be stuffed with various vegetables, cheese, and paneer inside and can be cooked and served with ketchup or spicy chutneys for adding an incredible taste.
