Computation of Daily Feed Allowance Formula: Daily Feed Allowance = W x N x S x R Where: W (g) = average body weight of the stock after a given period. N = the original number of stocked S (%) = estimated survival during a given period R (%) = Feeding rate
Example: Given: No. of stock in a 1 ha. Pond = 50,000 Weight after 30 days = 5 g Estimated survival = 90% Feeding rate = 8% Feeding duration = 15 days
Daily Feed Allowance (DFA) = W x N x S x R = 5g x 50,000 x 0.90 x .08/day = 18,000 g/day or 18 kg/day Total Feed Requirement (TFR) = DFA x Feeding Duration = 18 kg/day x 15 days = 270 kg
Exercises: Row 1: No. of stock = 10,000 Weight after 30 days = 8 g Estimated survival = 90% Feeding rate = 12% Feeding duration = 30 days
Exercises: Row 2: No. of stock = 5,000 Weight after 30 days = 5g Estimated survival = 90% Feeding rate = 15% Feeding duration = 30 days
Exercises: Row 3: No. of stock = 3,000 Weight after 30 days = 10 g Estimated survival = 90% Feeding rate = 8% Feeding duration = 45 days
