OVERVIEW 2 Capital Markets Fact Sheet – Q1 2024 Equity Derivatives Other instruments General overview European markets registered gains in Q1 amid expectations of interest rate cuts. However, valuations and returns still lag other markets. Primary markets remain stagnant and trading volumes stable when considering the last few years. Market capitalisation slightly increased but turnover in equity remained unchanged. The number of new listings and IPOs declined. Notional turnover for most classes of derivatives increased. Turnover increased for all other instruments, except for ESG bonds.
