X is a 1977 Hindi-language political satire film directed by Amrit Nahata, who was a member
of Indian parliament and produced by Badri Prasad Joshi.
The film was a satire on the politics of A and B and was banned by the Indian Government
during the Emergency period and all prints were confiscated.
The plot revolved around a corrupt and evil politician Gangaram or Gangu trying to woo a
personified public, depicted as mute and helpless looking. The movie is a humorous
comment over the system and the selfishness of the politicians regarded as a motion picture
version of the cartoonist columns that are the most brutal taunt over the politics. “But
banning the film wasn’t enough - all the prints of the movie, including the master proof of the
film, were sent to Y where they were burnt.” The film had spoofed B’s plans for manufacturing

Question 1: What exactly was his idea?
NORTH-SOUTH politics hogged the limelight towards the end of the 17th Lok
Sabha. First, Congress MP from Karnataka, DK Suresh, said that the people of
South India might have to demand a separate country if "the injustice of not
providing the rightful share of taxes (to the southern states) continued".
Sixty-six years ago, an Independent Member of Parliament had an idea to unite
both parts of the country. In 1958, the people of Gurgaon, which was then part
of Punjab, chose an independent candidate, Prakash Vir Shastri, to represent
them in Lok Sabha. This was to fill the vacancy left by the passing of Maulana
Abul Kalam Azad. Shastri persistently pursued this idea. He raised the issue
again in 1963 and later introduced a private member Bill on the same topic in
1968. Even the state government of Mysore and Kerala were enthusiastic about
his idea.

X (literally meaning Crescent of the moon), a weekly Urdu newspaper, was
founded by Y, an Indian independence activist. Running from 1912 to 1914, it
staunchly criticized the British Raj, urging Indian Muslims to join the
independence movement. Y, after his travels through Muslim countries, drew
inspiration from anti-imperial movements, notably bonding with Egyptian
activist Mustafa Kamil Pasha. The paper's name, shared with an Egyptian
publication, reflects Y's admiration for Egyptian anti-imperial activists.
X covered not only British government criticism but also theological, war, and
scientific issues. Emphasizing freedom from British rule, it notably advocated
Hindu-Muslim unity, openly disapproving only of the Muslim League, which Y
accused of betrayal. The paper ceased in 1914 due to the Press Act.
