•The alarm is activated if it senses smoke, heat, or if a
manual pull alarm is activated
•Manual pull alarms are located throughout the facility and
are red in color
•Alarms will continue to sound on the fire floor, and as well
as other floor, until silenced by fire marshal
•Flashing visual alarms are provided for the hearing
impaired or indicate the infected floor
•Security monitors fire alarms 24 hours a day, 365 days a
year
•Class A
–Ordinary combustibles materials like wood, paper, cloth,
furnishing, plastics and rubber
•Class B
–Flammable liquids, solvents, oils, paints, thinner and
flammable gases
–Combustible liquids such as kerosene
•Class C
-Live electrical equipment like electrical mains, transformers
and electrical appliances (extinguishing medium must be
electrically non-conductive)
•Class D
-Combustible metals e.g. potassium, magnesium, titanium,
sodium, lithium and zirconium
•Pull the pin

Cover the entire area that is on
Fire. Continue until the fire is
extinguished. Keep the eye on
the area for re-lighting
•R-rescue any patient in immediate danger
•A-pull the alarm and notify other employees of the location and
type of fire
•C-contain the fire by closing doors and windows
•E-extinguish the fire or evacuate the area
•Evacuate beyond smoke/fire barrier doors
•Do not utilize elevators in areas directly threatened by fire
•When traveling through smoke and/or fire, remember to
keep low,wrap in wet blankets/fire blankets and keep
faces covered
•Do not run!
•Do not open a door into an area where a suspected fire
might be. To check doors:
–Brace your shoulder and foot against the door and
slowly open it
–If smoke seeps through, close the door
–If there is no heat or smoke, proceed to evacuate
•Close all doors as you pass
•Do not allow anyone to return to the area
•Keep clam
•Close the cash drawers, sales drawers and vault.
•Leave the office/floor/ building through fire exit (or normal exit if it
is not engulfed with fire) safely in quickest possible time and
assemble at “Fire Assemble Point”.
•Do not run.
•Close the door behind; as you are the last person evacuate the
place.
•Switch off all electrical appliances if possible.
•Do not use lift.
•Call Fire Bridget service or internal fire fighting team.
•Guide people to “Fire assemble point” and start counting heads to
be sure every has evacuate.
•Do not go back to office/floor/ building until fire warden or fire
service people ensure the place is safe.
•Follow the instruction of fire warden.

–A small fire is a fire whose size is like a wastebasket,
can be controlled within 3 min
•What to do?
Think before you start extinguishing…
–Know what is burning and what type of extinguisher to use
–Personnel must know how to operate the fire extinguisher
–There is a safe escape route behind you
–There is no thick smoke

–Evacuate immediately if
a) Extinguishing is ineffective
b) The fire continues to grow or spreading
c) You have no confidence in fighting the fire
