RISK IS GENERICALLY DEFINED AS THE UNCERTAINTY OF LOSS. A person conducting a business or undertaking must prevent the possibility of fire or explosion from an ignition of flammable substances associated with a hazardous area or a hazardous atmosphere. Fire and explosion can result in catastrophic consequences, causing serious injuries or death of workers and others, as well as significant damage to property.

The goal of fire prevention is to educate the public to take precautions to prevent potentially harmful fires, and be educated about surviving them.

The mission of the NFPA established in 1896, is to reduce the worldwide burden of fire and other hazards on the quality of life by providing and advocating consensus codes and standards, research, training, and education. CODES AND STANDARDS NFPA is responsible for 300 codes and standards that are designed to minimize the risk and effects of fire by establishing criteria for building, processing, design, service, and installation around the world.

PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHER NFPA 10 standard is implemented for various type of portable fire extinguisher.

NFPA 14 is implemented for design, installation & Testing the Stand pipes & Hose System NFPA 24 & NFPA 291 is used for

NFPA 20 standard is used for Fire Pump to comply in all respects. NFPA 22 is used for Fire Water Tank design.

The design ,installation & Testing shall comply with NFPA 24 & NFPA 291 including referenced NFPA publications. The system components, pipes, fittings shall be selected as per the relevant provision of NFPA 13.

Requirement for Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Water Based Fire Protection

 72 ,70 & 101 recommendations shall be used for Application, Installation, Location, Performance & Maintenance of Fire Alarm System NFPA

 NFPA 2001 is implemented for design, installation & Testing of the Clean Agent System

NFPA 11 - Standard for Low, Medium & High-Expansion Foam NFPA 16 - Standard for the Installation of Foam-Water Sprinkler and Foam-Water Spray Systems NFPA 30 - Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code

The design, installation & Testing shall comply with NFPA 750 & including referenced NFPA publications.

NFPA 17A standard is implemented for wet chemical Extinguishing System.

The design, installation & Testing shall comply with following standards : NFPA – 92 A NFPA – 92 B NFPA – 204

Establishes minimum requirements for new & existing buildings to protect building occupant from Fire, Smoke and Toxic Fumes
Tags
