First conditional

1. 1.- Melanie will jump the rope today if she doesn’t go the the gym. She is
on a diet. She has to lose a lot of weight. If she loses enough weight her
health will improve dramatically. If she cuts down on carbohydrates she
won’t develop diabetes. Her parents want her to be thin for her 15th
birthday party.
2.- Nowadays there are many autistic children and kids with THDA. For
many teachers this makes their job more difficult. Alice doesn’t want her
daughter to quit her job as a teacher at an elementary school; but
sometimes dealing with thirty children in one classroom is unbearable.
3.- Amanda was doing the laundry two days ago. Now, she is making dinner
for her family. She should hire a housekeeper in order to have more time
for herself. She will ask her husband to hire a young lady to clean the
house. If her husband says yes, Amanda will sleep more and will have
more free time.
4.- Sebastian didn’t drink water yesterday; therefore, he felt dizzy for a
while. He lives in a very hot place; therefore, he can dehydrate easily.
He didn’t tell his parents he felt bad. They were making bread at night.
They were having dinner at 6:00 pm. Sebastian had a siesta before
dinner. He slept for an hour.
5.- Robert has an ingrowing toenail. It hurts really bad. If it gets infected
they will remove the toenail. Robert can’t wear tennis shoes, he can only
wear sandals. He visited the doctor yesterday. If the doctor fixes
Robert’s problem today, he will numb his big toe. Robert doesn’t like
injections. But in this case, he has no option.
