Flat plans

1. A flat plan is a simplistic version of the layout in which I will follow for my actual magazine production. I have used various magazines such as vibe and the king magazine to give me ideas so that I am following the typical conventions.

2. Masthead Barcode Strap line Lead lines Cover shot Main Image Flat plan Social media icons At the very top of the page there will be a masthead. This will be in a large font and a distinctive font so that it stands out from the rest of the magazines. There will be a few lead lines and puffs, this gives the audience abundance and choice and they use this is to attract the audience in to purchasing the magazine. There will be and issue number to let the store know what batch number it is and a tagline . The barcode will be there so that the store can scan it, in order for the transaction to be complete. The main image will be stretched across the page because it will be the most important and will have the biggest feature in the magazine. At the very top there will be various artists names which will attract the audience attention if they see or recognise someone on there, this also gives them abundance because there is more than one on there. Tagline and issue number The social media icons/convergences, will be located at the bottom of the page as it doesn’t need that much attention however it shows the audience that we are up to date with social media and that there is more than n way to keep up with what is going on for example via face book or twitter. I will use some incentives so that it gives the audience abundance and from my questionnaire I found out that my target audience enjoy receiving gifts, vouchers and deals etc.

3. Contents page Features and the page number Image Page number Charts There will be one image on the contents page so that it is not crowded and it follows the typical conventions of a hip hop/r&b magazine. There will be features and page numbers, this will be there so that people can easily navigate to the specific page that they want without having to search page by page which wastes valuable time. On the right hand side there will be charts this will be the top 10 songs for that week from the online voting system, this will keep the readers that don’t use the online website involved. The words ‘contents’ at the very top of the page on the left side. This is there as a reminded.
