20. 20 Adverbs of Manner Here are some examples: The dog angrily stared at the mailman. She sang loudly in the shower . I accidentally spilled my coffee on the floor. He was walking happily down the street . Notice that most adverbs of manner end in “ ly ” – so it is easy for you to identify them. Be aware that some adjectives end in “ ly ” as well.

I foolishly thought I could fix the sink. (Here the thinking is foolish) I thought I could fix the sink foolishly. (Here fixing is foolish)

This chemical normally absorbs energy from sunlight and gradually transforms the carbon dioxide and water in carbohydrates. But in the fall, because of the changes in the length of the sunlight and changes in temperature, the leaves inevitably stop the food-making process, the chlorophyll slowly breaks down and the green color suddenly disappears, leaving room for the yellow and orange colors which ultimately give us the fall splendor .
