FOR AND AGAINST ESSAY

DEFINITION Piece of writing in which a topic is considered from opposing points of view. You should present both sides in a fair way by discussing them objectively and in equal detail. It’s an essay on the advantages and disadvantages of some current issue and i t consists of: Introduction Body Conclusion

INTRODUCTION: You state the topic to be discussed, without giving your opinion. Use a definition, a question, an example, the current state of the situation ... Advance that you are going to discuss both sides of it. BODY: Arguments for: mention at least 2 or 3 ideas in favour of the topic. Justify them or give examples. Arguments against: mention at least 2 or 3 ideas against the topic. Justify them or give examples. CONCLUSION: You state your opinion or give a balanced consideration of the topic . You can summarize the main ideas and give your own opinion or ask the readers for theirs, or simply state that there are different points of view

INTRODUCTION Computers are being used more and more in education. Some people say that this is a positive trend, while others argue that it is leading to negative consequences. Discuss both sides of this argument and then give your own opinion. There is an ever increasing use of technology, such as tablets and laptops, in the classroom. It is often argued that this is a positive development, whilst others disagree and think it will lead to adverse ramifications. This essay agrees that an increase in technology is beneficial to students and teachers. This essay will discuss both points of view.
