Formatting text in Microsoft Word refers to controlling how text appears in your documents. This includes the size, color, and font of the text. FONT STYLES A re used to change the Look ability of the text or give more emphasis on some texts in the Word Document. FONT SIZE The font-size property sets the size of the text FONT STYLE AND FONT SIZE
BOLD A Set of type characters that are darker and heavier than normal ITALIC Italic is a typeface or font style that slants to the right . UNDERLINE An underline is a section of text in a document where the words have a line running beneath them BOLD, ITALIC, AND UNDERLINE
STRIKE Strikethrough is primarily used to mark text that is mistaken or to be removed . SUBSCRIPT A subscript is a character, symbol or number set slightly below the normal line of text. SUPERSCRIPT L ets you type characters that appear slightly above the current line of text. STRIKETHROUGH, SUBSCRIPT, AND SUPERSCRIPT
TEXT HIGHLIGHT COLOR The purpose of highlighting is to draw attention to important information in a text FONT COLOR It is how you insert colorized text, such as red, orange, green, blue and indigo, and many others . TEXT EFFECTS You can change the look of your text by changing its fill, changing its outline, or adding effects, such as shadows, reflections, or glows. CHANGE CASE A llows you to toggle selected text between ALL CAPS, lowercase and Title Case. BULLETS Use bullets to list items that do not have to be in any particular order . NUMBERRING Referred to as an ordered list, number format, or number list, numbering is a list order done with numbers for checklists or a set of steps CHANGE CASE, BULLETS, AND NUMBERING
ALIGNMENT Determines the appearance and orientation of the edges of the paragraph: left-aligned, right-aligned, centered, or justified text. INDENTING Adds structure to your document by allowing you to separate information LINE AND PARAGRAPH SPACING Line spacing is the space between each line in a paragraph. ALIGNMENT,INDENT, AND LINE AND PARAGRAPH SPACING
SORTING Rearranges the rows based on the contents of a specific column . SHADING Shading words or paragraphs gives them a background color that updates when you switch to a different document theme. BORDERS Are the set of lines, design shapes, images, text boxes, boundaries, and colorful graphics that are added in Word to make documents more attractive and beautiful. TABLE A table is made up of rows and columns. You can use tables to align numbers in columns, and then sort and perform calculations on them . PICTURES Insert pictures into your document such as logos of companies, photos and other pictures to give more interest or a more professional speed(look) to your document. SHAPES S hapes group contains several categories of shapes, including lines, basic shapes, block arrows, flowchart elements, stars and banners, and callouts TABLE, PICTURES, AND SHAPES
SMARTART A SmartArt graphic is a visual representation of information and ideas. CHART A chart is a visual illustration of numeric values or data. SMARTART AND CHART
COMMENT The comment feature of Word allows you to easily attach comments to words or phrases in your document . Select the text you want to add a comment to. HEADER, FOOTER AND PAGE NUMBER A header is text that is placed at the top of a page, while a footer is placed at the bottom, or foot, of a page. Typically these areas are used for inserting document information, such as the name of the document, the chapter heading, page numbers, creation date and the like. COMMENT, HEADER FOOTER, AND PAGE NUMBER
WORDART A gallery of text styles that you can add to your publications to create decorative effects, such as shadowed or mirrored (reflected) text. DROP CAP A drop cap (dropped capital) is a large capital letter used as a decorative element at the beginning of a paragraph or section WORD ART AND DROP CAP
WATERMARK A watermark is an image or text that appears behind the main text of the document. PAGE COLOR the page color refers to the color of whole page that is to be changed PAGE BORDERS A page border is a border that appears outside the margins on each page in the document. MARGIN Margins are the blank spaces that line the top, bottom, and left and right sides of a document. ORIENTATION Page Orientation refers to the direction in which a document is displayed. It is of two types; portrait (vertical) and landscape ( horizontal) PAGE SIZE Page size refers to the area of your publication. Paper, or sheet, size is the size of the paper used for printing. MARGIN, ORIENTATION, AND SIZE
COLUMNS The Word columns tool lets you divide the page vertically into two or more columns in such a way that text that you type into them runs down the first column until it is full and then it snakes over to start again at the top of the second column TEXT WRAPPING Predefined text wrapping allows you to quickly move the image to a specific location on the page.
