Course Description
This course enables students to understand the
fundamental concepts and principles related to the
historical, philosophical, and legal foundations of education.
It focuses specifically on the important contributions of each
field to the structure and advancement of education.
After successful completion of MAEng and MAEM , students can :
1.Implement the current laws that regulate the organization of education in the Philippines.
2.Actively engage in promoting quality and accessible basic education by applying relevant
policies, concepts, and principles to ensure effective delivery of educational services.
3.Build skills and competencies to address all aspects of quality, equitable, and
comprehensive basic education by achieving the course’s target goals and program
objectives.
4.Exhibit moral integrity and leadership in the teaching profession by attaining the expected
skills, values, and competencies.
5.Utilize new knowledge, skills, and research-based strategies to improve instructional
programs and enhance overall school performance

Grading System
1.Onsite activities account for 25%, including but not limited to lectures,
discussions, topic presentations, reporting, evaluation, presentation of
outputs, and assessment methods such as quizzes and major examinations.
2.Online or other platforms – 75% (such as Gmeet, LENS, Messenger,
Gmail, and Google Drive) and others – for activities that do not require
real-time interaction between students and faculty. These activities can be
completed on LENS or uploaded to Google Classroom, Gmail, or Google
Drive, allowing students to respond at their own pace or within a specified
timeframe.
3.Whenever possible, if students are on-site from 9 to 12, they should also be
on-site from 1 to 4 to ensure a smooth transition.

Guidelines
in the preparation of Oral & Written Reports
1.Students are allowed to create their own suitable outlines
when preparing and presenting reports;
2.The oral presentation should last between 30 minutes
and one hour, followed by a 10-minute question-and-
answer session. It must be prepared using PowerPoint;
3.Two reports are required: one in PowerPoint format and a
detailed report in either PDF or MS Word forma
4.Include references and sources;
Prepare a paper review or presentation sharing your
thoughts and reactions, and discuss the article as well as
the policies and actions implemented by the Department
of Education (DepEd) and the National Government :
