Preamble The Preamble to the Constitution is a reflection of the core constitutional values that embody the Constitution. It declares India to be a Sovereign Socialist Secular Democratic Republic committed to Justice, Equality and Liberty for the people.
On 26 November 1949, the third reading of the Constitution came to an end with the Constituent Assembly voting in favour of the motion proposed by Ambedkar in the previous stage
It took precisely 2 years, 11 months, 17 days to create the Constitution of India. Since it was completed on 26th November, 1949, it is celebrated as the "Day of the Constitution", till date .
26 November 1949: The Constitution of India was passed and adopted by the assembly. 24 January 1950: Last meeting of Constituent Assembly. The Constitution was signed and accepted (with 395 Articles, 8 Schedules, and 22 Parts). 26 January 1950: The Constitution came into force
