About This Presentation

This material discusses the glory of man as being progressive from the temporal to eternal.

ETERNAL GLORY – Col. 3:4, Rom. 8:16-17 Colossians 3:4 (NKJV) When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Romans 8:16-17 (NKJV) The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, [17] and if children, then heirs-heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. 3

ETERNAL GLORY – Col. 3:4, Rom. 8:16-17 Salutation and prophetic declarations Introduction of topic and text Preview of the outline Review of prev. msg. The Concept of Glory, Vain glory vs. God’s glory Paradox of glory and glory to glory Glory is progressive He must increase, I must decrease Altar Call

GLORY IS PROGRESSIVE Glory is progressive we are born to glory in Christ Jesus and admonished to grow in grace, in glory (2 Peter 3:18) There is glory, when we are born into the body of Christ Jesus, foundation of the temple of God is laid in our lives for God to dwell in us for we are called the temple of God - 1 Cor. 3:16 (NKJV) Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

GLORY IS PROGRESSIVE There is also greater glory as we are being rebuilt in Christ Jesus. - Haggai 2:9 (NKJV) 'The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,' says the LORD of hosts. 'And in this place I will give peace,' says the LORD of hosts .“ And ultimately there is glorification as said in Romans 8:30 (NKJV) Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

We are all growing naturally

Our growth physically must end with death. What follows?

Glorification or Condemnation?

HE MUST INCREASE, I MUST DECREASE Jesus is the glory of His people - Luke 2:32 (NKJV) A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel .“ To increase in glory is to give glory to God and Christ Jesus in our lives until we are fused into Him in glory.

HE MUST INCREASE, I MUST DECREASE Andrew Bonar (1810-1892) put it this way you can tell when a Christian was growing. In proportion to his growth in grace he would elevate his Master, talk less of what he himself was doing and become smaller in his own esteem, until, like the morning star, he faded away before the rising sun.

12 In light of Bonar’s words, we will do well to ask ourselves if we are truly growing in His glory.

Self is emphasised in Hell The agony of hell cannot allow one to think of anything or anyone but self and that is where ‘SELF’ is sending the selfish and proud.

ALTAR CALL It is not in our natural man to be truly humble. Our natural tendency is to struggle to make point and earn glory; that is our fallen nature. But when you come to Jesus and receive His Spirit He will enable us to humble ourselves. Do you desire to shine in eternity? Then give glory to Jesus Christ in your life. C ome to Jesus Christ and accept Him as Lord and Saviour today.
