What is productivity software?

Productivity software also called personal or office productivity software. It is an application we use to produce document , presentations , spreadsheets , charts and graphs .

Microsoft word 2016 is a word processing software application for creating documents that has text and graphics the common outputs are creating letters, reports, brochures, posters, and other types of publication.

Microsoft word launch (to open) Use the search window and type Microsoft word Click the application to open

Microsoft word exit (to close) Click the file tab to go to the backstage view and click Close Click the close button at the top right corner of the window

Microsoft word interface (Getting started) By clicking the application, let us choose the blank document as our file type.

Screen elements of Microsoft word

1 Quick Access Toolbar – it is used to access commonly used commands such as Save, Undo, and Redo.

2 File Name – It display the file name of the current document that we are editing. The default name is Document and a number (ex. Document1)

3 Microsoft Account – It is the user’s account to access or upload files.

4 Ribbon Display Option – or known as Window button. It includes Auto-hide ribbon, Show tabs, and commands.

5 Ribbon – It houses all commands when using Word. It has tabs containing different commands that are arranged according to their functions.

6 Ruler – These are your guides when positioning the content of our document.

7 Insertion point or Cursor – It directs the location where we type out text or insert picture.

8 Document – It is where we enter and edit our text or graphics

9 Vertical Scroll Bar – it is used to scroll up and down of our document.

10 Status Bar – it contains information about the current document such as page number , and word count . It also has three (3) different document view: Read Mode, Print Layout, and Web Layout . The Slider is useful to zoom in or zoom out the current document.
