INTRODUCTION 3 Department of Computer Science & Engineering(AIML) The main objective of the "Alcohol Detection & Engine Lock System with GPS Tracking" project is to enhance road safety by preventing drunk driving through automation. The system detects alcohol levels in the driver's breath using a sensor and automatically locks the engine if the level exceeds a predefined limit, ensuring the vehicle cannot be operated under unsafe conditions. Additionally, the integrated GPS tracking feature provides real-time location monitoring, enabling swift responses during emergencies or violations. Example: If a driver consumes alcohol and attempts to start the vehicle, the system detects the alcohol, disables the engine, and sends an alert with the vehicle's location to a pre-registered contact or authority, effectively preventing a potential accident and ensuring immediate action.

4 LITERATURE SURVEY Sr. No. Author Title Year Limitations Finding 1. Mrs. Y. V. N. Tulasi, Sajja Jyothsna Alcohol Detection based Engine Locking System with GPS 2024 The system might detect alcohol from external sources, give false crash alerts, and lacks advanced communication features. It also relies heavily on its hardware working properly. The paper focuses on impaired driving and suggests an IoT-based system that stops the car if alcohol is detected, building on earlier car locking systems with alcohol sensors. 2. Ravi Shankar, Naga Surendra Alcohol Detection With Engine Locking System Using Gps 2023 Current systems rely on police devices, which can be unreliable. They detect alcohol but don’t stop the car. The paper proposes a built-in system to lock the engine for safer roads. The paper introduces a system that uses GPS and Wi-Fi to detect alcohol and lock the engine, improving road safety and preventing drunk driving. Department of Computer Science & Engineering(AIML)

5 3. Ahmad Alkali, Samuel Owoeye Development of Alcohol Detection with Engine Locking and Short Messaging Service Tracking System 2022 The paper highlights that the effectiveness of the alcohol detection system can be compromised if the driver's cell phone battery dies, rendering the system inactive. The main goal of the research is to create a system that helps prevent road accidents caused by drunk driving by making it impossible for a drunk driver to start a vehicle. 4. Rajesh De Alcohol Detection Automatic Engine Lock System Through Gps 2021 The paper mainly talks about how the Automatic Engine Lock System works, its benefits, and the technology used, without mentioning any specific limitations. The main goal of the research is to create an Automatic Engine Lock System that stops drunk driving using alcohol detection. 5. Swetha.A , Pallavi. B Gps Tracker And Alcohol Detector With Engine Locking Sytem Using Gsm 2020 Manual detection devices used by police struggle to keep up with heavy traffic, making it hard to control and monitor vehicles properly. The main goal of the research is to create a system that detects alcohol levels in drivers to reduce accidents caused by drunk driving. Department of Computer Science & Engineering(AIML)

PROBLEM STATEMENT Drunk driving:- Alcohol detection and engine locking systems can prevent drivers from operating their vehicles if they are above the legal blood alcohol content (BAC) limit. Road accidents:- Alcohol detection and engine locking systems can help prevent accidents caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol. Location tracking:- GPS technology can help locate a vehicle after alcohol detection is detected and accident. Informing relatives:- GSM technology can be used to send text messages to relatives or vehicle owners to inform them about alcohol consumption and if any accident. 6 Department of Computer Science & Engineering(AIML)

OBJECTIVE 7 Department of Computer Science & Engineering(AIML) The Alcohol senses engine lock and GPS is to develop a system that can detect alcohol consumption in a driver, automatically lock the vehicle's engine to prevent it from starting, and provide GPS tracking to monitor the vehicle's location. This system aims to reduce accidents caused by drunk driving and enhance road safety by ensuring that intoxicated individuals cannot operate a vehicle. The system detects the alcohol level present in the air inside the vehicle. Hence the system will reduce the number of road accidents and casualties due to drunk driving in future. Example: Detect the alcohol. Lock the engine. Notify the fleet manager with the vehicle's exact GPS location.

SCOPE OF PROJECT To develop a comprehensive safety system that detects alcohol levels in drivers, prevents vehicle ignition, and tracks the vehicle's location in real time. Enhance Road Safety : Prevents drunk driving and potential accidents. Real-Time Monitoring : Provides live updates on vehicle location to improve response time during emergencies. Future Potential: Expandable to include more safety features like fatigue detection. 8 Department of Computer Science & Engineering(AIML)

APPLICATIONS AREA 9 Department of Computer Science & Engineering(AIML) Public Transportation :- Ensures professional drivers, such as bus or taxi operators, are sober while driving. Provides GPS tracking for route monitoring and passenger safety. Commercial Field Management:- Enhances safety protocols for delivery trucks, cargo transport, and logistics. Enables employers to monitor fleet activity and compliance. Private Vehicles:- Adds an extra layer of protection for individuals and families. Prevents drunk driving incidents involving personal vehicles. Rental and Shared Vehicles:- Ensures accountability among users of rental cars and car-sharing services. Tracks vehicle usage and location for enhanced operational oversight.
