Method of preparation All the drugs are taken in a clean khalva yantra of appropriate size and tritu - rated to obtain a homogenous mixture. This mixture is now subjected for 7days trituration with ‘ aparājită swarasa ’ to roll the pills of 1 ratti (125 mgs).
The pills are dried in shade and stored in airtight glass containers as ‘ Garbhapala rasa”. The pills will be reddish in colour with katu-tikta rasa and rasayana gandha .
Dosage , adjuvant and therapeutic utility : MATRA - One pill (125gm) is administered once or twice daily from 1 to 9 th month of pregnancy ANUPANA - ‘ draksha jala ’ It cures all the garbhiņi roga . NOTE – Take 30 gm of draksha and grind it in 120 gm of water for obtainingdraksha jala INDICATIONS- It protects the foetus and takes care of its proper and complete development.Therefore , it is called as ‘ Garbhapala rasa’. 1. garbhapata (abortion) 2. garbhastrava (threatened abortion) 3. pradar (vaginal discharge) 4. chhardi . 5. grahani roga . 6.shiroroga. 7. vibandha 8.agnimandya
Research update 94 pregnant women were subjected for this study. 55 women were supplemented with 120 mg bid ‘ Garbhpal Ras’ along with folic acid, while 39 pregnant women of control group supplemented with folic acid only. Aim of study was to evaluate efficacy of Garbhpal Ras in nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. In follow up period it was clearly seen that relief in vomiting was more in trail group, none women of ‘ Garbhpal Ras’ group had vomiting till 3 rd follow up. Haematological and biochemical blood parameters was assessed where in the level of haemoglobin was found significantly increased in pregnant women administered with ‘ Garbhpal Ras’ as well as in cases of control group. ‘ Garbhpal Ras’ does not produce any haemopoitic toxicity. N ormal levels of biochemical parameters till the end of treatment, showed non-toxic nature of ‘ Garbhpal Rasa In this study, safety of Garbhpal Ras was evaluated on its chronic administration in Albino rats. The Garbhpal Ras was administered orally for 180 consecutive days in doses of 12, 40 and 80 mg/kg i.e. 3, 10 and 20 times higher than the recommended dose. Effect of Garbhapala Rasa on liver of rats did not reveal any abnormal hepatotoxic effect. Effect of ‘ Garbhpal Ras’ on haematology of rats was observed that there was no significant alteration in all hematology parameters. Biochemical parameters showed that ‘ Garbhpal Ras’ did not cause any disturbance in synthesis of albumin even at high dose. Effect of ‘ Garbhpal Ras’ on kidney did not cause any adverse toxic effect on renal function. Biochemical parameter revealed that excretory function of kidney was well maintained, as there was no rise in the values of blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and serum creatinine levels in rats treated with ‘ Garbhpal Ras ’’.
