Topic Comparative Analysis of the CBA and the OBA in the Beninese EFL Teaching-Learning and Evaluation Process at CPEG Bel Espoir

Problem Statement Benin's education system faces challenges in EFL Teaching Learning classes through the use of various approaches, particularly the Competency-Based Approach (CBA) and Object-Based Approach (OBA). While both aim to improve educational outcomes, they differ in principles and strategies. A comparative analysis of these approaches can help: To reveal the benefits and limitations of CBA and OBA in Teaching-Learning writing in EFL classes , To identify which approach better supports EFL Learners language acquisition, and prepares them for real-life communication challenges , To show how each approach influences Assessment Practices, Teacher Roles, and Student Learning Experiences in Writing.

Purpose of the Study A research work cannot be successful if the objectives of carrying it out are not stated The main objective of the research is to compare the Competency-Based Approach (CBA) and the Object-Based Approach (OBA) in the teaching-learning and Evaluation of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Benin. The specifics Objectives are : 1 . To identify the challenges faced by teachers in Writing in EFL classes. 2 . To assess the effectiveness of the Competency-Based Approach and the Object-Based Approach in improving students’ writing in EFL classes. 3 . To propose suggestions for improving the effectiveness of the CBA in teaching-learning writing in EFL classes .

Research Questions To achieve the objectives of this investigation, the following questions have been chosen: What challenges do teachers and Learners face in Teaching-Learning writing in EFL classes? What are the contributions of the Competence-Based Approach for the Object-Based Approach in Teaching-Learning and Evaluation writing in EFL classes ? How can the implementation of the Competence-Based Approach be improved in Benin Teaching-Learning and Evaluation writing?

Significance This topic is significant because it shows the effectiveness of the Competency-Based Approach (CBA) in writing in EFL classes. It also addresses existing challenges in the educational system, providing insights for teachers training and resource allocation.

Constructivist Theory: express that learners construct their own understanding and knowledge of the world through experiences, interactions, and reflections. Behaviorist Theory: focuses on observable behaviors and the ways they can be learned or unlearned through conditioning . Communicative Language Teaching (CLT ): is an approach that emphasizes interaction and communication as the primary means of language learning. Literature Review Jane Doe, 2022 , the Object-based Approach in education emphasizes the use of tangible objects as central elements in the learning process . He adds that this pedagogical strategy promotes hands-on learning, allowing students to engage directly with materials, which enhances understanding and retention . Collin (2015 ) delt on CBA he argues that Competency-Based Approaches promote learner autonomy and critical thinking . he emphasizes that integrating Competency-Based methodologies can enhance student engagement and motivation . The investigation uses the following three theories

Methodology of the study Questionnaire have been addressed to EFL teachers as well as EFL learners And classroom observation was carried out in order to be in contact with the reality of the field .
