GENERAL PHYSICAL EXAMINATION DR MOMINA MAHAM HOUSE OFFICER

INTRODUCTION Should begin the moment you see the patient General apprearance Posture and Attitude Conciousness Physique

VITAL SIGNS Pulse: Measure rate and rhythm. 60-100 beats per min is normal.

Blood Pressure: Auscultation and palpation method. <130/85 regarded as normal in adults.
Respiratory Rate: Normal 12-20 breaths/min. Temperature: Normal average 98-99°F. Rectal reading more reliable(0.9°F more than oral reading) Pain as 5 th vital sign O2 Saturation Menstruation in women of reproductive age

LIPS AND TONGUE

NECK

Assess the location, number, consistency, fixity , draining areas and next regional groups as well Enlarged due to bening(inflammation and infection) or malignant conditions. OTHER LYMPH NODES

EDEMA CAUSES -PITTING EDEMA: CHF, pericardial effusion, CLD, CKD, Nephrotic and Nephritic syndrome, Protein losing enteropathy, paralysis, cellulitis -NON PITTING EDEMA: Lymphadema, angioedema, myxedema
