2. What is an Allusion Allusions are a figure of speech that references famous people, places, events and literary works . Allusions are left unexplained and are often indirect, so it is up to the reader to piece together the meaning of an allusion using their own knowledge or research. Allusions are either implied or directly stated.

3. Examples Jane followed her white rabbit and unraveled her musical talent. - Alludes to the novel Alice in Wonderland where the white rabbit led Alice to a life-changing adventure.
