Introduction to Articles Articles define a noun as specific or unspecific. Types: Definite (the) and Indefinite (a, an)

Indefinite Articles – A & An 'A' – before consonant sounds (a book, a car) 'An' – before vowel sounds (an apple, an hour) Used when referring to non-specific nouns.

Definite Article – The Used before specific nouns. Examples: - The sun rises in the east. - The book on the table is mine. Also used with superlatives and unique objects.

What Are Tenses? Tense shows time of action or state of being. Three main types: Present, Past, Future

Forms of Tenses Each tense has 4 forms: Simple, Continuous, Perfect, Perfect Continuous. Table example: Present: I play | I am playing | I have played | I have been playing Past: I played | I was playing | I had played | I had been playing Future: I will play | I will be playing | I will have played | I will have been playing

Tense Usage Tips Simple: Habitual/factual actions Continuous: Ongoing actions Perfect: Completed actions Perfect Continuous: Actions started in past and continuing

Functions of Modal Verbs Table: Can – Ability – She can swim. May – Permission – May I come in? Must – Necessity – You must wear a helmet. Should – Advice – You should study well. Will – Future – I will call you tomorrow.

Common Errors & Tips Modals are followed by base form of verb. Incorrect: He can to swim → Correct: He can swim Incorrect: She musts go → Correct: She must go
