4. Summary This story is about Pip , a boy who lives with her sister Sra Joe Gregory and her husband . One day he visited the graves of his family and suddenly a convict appeared , he demanded some food . Pip gave it to him . He received a Miss Havisham`s (a terrific woman with a wedding dress who adopted Estella) invitation to go to her village . He went there and found Estella, a beautiful girl but cold and heartless . He got in love with her . But Pip is accused of being poor . He worked with his uncle Joe in a forge and on a lucky day where he received a message from a secret benefactor to move to London to become a rich gentleman. He did . In London, he became a gentleman and is rich but not for much time. But his birthday a mysterious man came to his house and was revealed to be his secret benefactor. The story ends and Pip got ill , and Joe paid his debts . When he was better he walked around Miss Havisham´s village and found Estella ( divorced by her awful husband ). In the end , they walked away being friends .

5. Moral of the story The story is based on Pip’s expectations about his future, the life that he wanted to have , and the gentleman he wanted to become . In the end , his expectations never happened , on the contrary , the wind blew away the things he dreamed about. The moral of the story is we have to live in the present and expect almost nothing for the future and our love life . Since life is unpredictable , destiny sometimes is not fair , yet you need to still believe in your dreams and still be willing to make them true. What’s more, another lesson is giving less importance to money . The story of Pip is a clear example of it: he resigned his roots; his uncle, Joe, his friends and biddy for going to London with the mere objective of becoming wealthy. Those were the things that made him happy, and that is far way more important than money, in some cases. Lastly, Great expectations shows us the fact that it is not worth our time and energy to wait for things that never happened in the past and are unlikely that will happen in the future, hoping that your frustrated but not worthy dream come true (like Miss Havisham, when she was dressed in her wedding dress waiting for her groom to come, but it is impossible for it happen), though how hurtful it is to let go. Above all, you need to pursue your dreams but with these lessons in mind , according to this book.
