The Gospel of Matthew presents the story of
Jesus, the commitment of a disciple of
Christ, and the growth of the ministry of
proclaiming the death and resurrection of
Jesus.
Matthew
Matthew is marked as the first gospel in the
New Testament canon and narrates Jesus'
teachings in the early years of Christianity.

Jesus is the Son of David, the Son of Abraham,
the Messiah, the royal Anointed One, and
Emmanuel-God-with-us. Jesus is the one whom
all the prophecies of Israel point to
Theological Perspective
of the Gospel of Matthew
1. Ecclesial Character of Matthew's Gospel. - This gospel
has a great contribution. This served as the basis or
reference in the formulation of the materials needed for the
growth of the Church
2. The Reign of God is realized in the Reign of
the Lord. The rule of God is through Christ's
rule. Christ received the highest authority from
the Father to fulfill in the earthly church the
salvation, and continuously connected with the
Old Testament-the growth of the Church and
its future.
3. The Reality of God's People is now realized in the Church.
That is the realization of the mission in the Church Matthew
makes it clear that in the Person of Jesus, the Kingdom has
become real in the Church

1. Sermon on the Mount. The theme is
righteousness, which means doing the will
of the Heavenly Father based on the law
expounded, interpreted, and commanded
by Jesus-the Gospel of love.

To establish that Jesus is the Messiah, the
fulfillment of God's promises, and the true
King of Israel.
