Challenges faced at the work place

Challenges faced at the work place The CGHS portal is slow during the working hours. Some of the functions in the portal are not functioning properly(eg. Remarks and diagnosis of the patients entered are not saved, repeatedly getting logged out of the module in the peak hours , to be able to view past history of patients always etc . Majority of the newly joined doctors are attending to on a average more than 80 patients, sometimes going as high as 120-130 patients which adversely affects the quality patient care Shortage of human resources , no timely recruitment to the posts that are lying vacant

No formal training for the newly recruited doctors in regard to using digital platforms for data entry and issuing prescription, procurement through GeM portal, PFMS etc The doctors working in CGHS should be briefed about the various medicines available in CGHS formulary and listed investigations and procedures that is permitted through CGHS. Also guidance should be given in regard to obtaining permissions for unlisted investigations and procedures and life saving drugs. Lack of coordination with the officials of various ministries is adversely affecting the implementation of various public health measures especially in the Points of Entry Delay in the office related procedures . Difficulty in making patients understand the way module works. Patients like to have their own way of t/t like undue prescription of antibiotics. . Confrontation with harsh and ill mannered patients threatening with dire consequences. Counseling of patients about generic medicines

Totally new working environment working for doctors especially at Port and Airport which is a challenge initially Lack of training in regard to administration. G uidance should be given for those who take up the post incharge(any new higher post) in regard to material and inventory management Infrastructure issues such as – no separate rooms for all medical officers- rented building that are poorly maintained and not suited to function as Wellness Centres(no ramp etc for senior citizens) – No proper hygienic restrooms (no western latrine in some wellness centres) – No Air conditioning for the medical officers who are sitting and attending to patients for longer time period.
