Agribusiness is a dynamic and systematic endeavor that serves consumer globally and locally through innovation and management of multiple value chain derived deliver values goods and services derived from sustainable orchestration of food ,fibers and natural resources.(Edward and shultz II 2005)

GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nation (FAO) over 70% of the worlds food needs are met by small farmers. Agriculture is the economic sector that employs the most people in the world, and the main source of food and income for many people living in poverty. Thus, investing in agriculture is not only one of the most effective strategies to improve food security and promote sustainability, It is also essential to many countries economic development.

Policies designed to promote agribusiness and sustainable food value chain play crucial role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. For this reason ,with this framework and as the part of pledge 2025 BBVA (Banco Bilbao Viscaya Argentaria) mobilized nearly 12 billion in 2018 in sustainable finance and fight to climate change,13% of which was allocated to sustainable infrastructure and agribusiness.

The Agricultural sector as a whole, has only growth by an average of 1.1% in the last five years in term of value and added. At the sub-sector level ,the fishery sector has register the fastest growth of the three components with an average value added growth of 9.2%from 2009 to 2013. It is followed by the agriculture( crops, livestock and poultry ) sub sector with an average value added growth of 1.4% . In this sub-sector , the cassava and poultry segments, which have registered average value added growth rates or more or less 4% are the top performers. The forestry sector constructed , on the average , by 0.3% during the same period .

Goals and Strategies (2014-2017) is to improve productivity of high value of crops where regional comparative advantage lies. Strengthen our capacity in emerging high value of crops (2018-2021) is to strengthen agro-processing and linkages between production and processing Strengthen supply chain and commodity cluster. (2022-2025) Deepen participation in global value chain
