FOR TRAINING PURPOSE ONLY Welcome in Training program On MSS system SCN H-9223
FOR TRAINING PURPOSE ONLY Description The MSS system consists of Trans-Receive Electronics (TRE), INSAT MSS transponder and MSS earth station. The MSS transmit chain uses SXC transponder of INSAT - 3C satellite and the MSS receive chain uses CXS transponder of INSAT - 3C satellite. operates on 28V DC. The messages are sent/received using MSS Tx -Rx software loaded in PC/ Laptop. Ethernet data communication is used to send data to/from the TRE Unit to the PC/ Laptop.
FOR TRAINING PURPOSE ONLY 2. System description The MSS consists of following main LRU’S TRE Unit between frame 12B & 13. Antenna Unit between frame 12B & 13. Rugged Ethernet Switch on ESM Console. TxRx Client Software on DataLink MPU.

FOR TRAINING PURPOSE ONLY Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) type-C Tx -Rx terminals (TRE unit with Antenna unit) are used to send and receive data from aircraft to a ground based Hub station through MSS transponder of INSAT, which operates in S X C and C X S links. MSS Tx Rx terminal installed on the aircraft, the data is transmitted in S-band to the satellite, which in turn, transmits the data in C-Band to the ground based hub station. The TRE unit has a built-in GPS receiver operates in L-band. Location information of the aircraft obtained from GPS Satellites is also transmitted in S-band to INSAT, which in-turn, is sent to the ground based hub station in C-band. This data enables the hub to continuously monitor the location of the aircraft, in addition to receiving short messages from the aircraft. For communication from hub station to the aircraft, a high sensitivity receiver in TRE unit receives the data from the satellite. In this case, a message from the hub is first sent to the satellite in C-band, which in turn, sends the message in S-band to the aircraft.
