Various types of Security Hazards विभिन्न प्रकारका सुरक्षा खतराहरू
Introduction s A security hazard is anything or anyone that is a danger to a building, product, employee or profit of a business, nation or another person . There are many safety hazards that are lurking in the offices all across the globe. These can range from office fires, slips, trips, falls, electrocution, and other accidents which can cause serious injuries to the employees and the office property as well. These are safety hazards, physical / environmental hazards, biological hazards (biohazards), chemical hazards, ergonomic hazards and psychosocial hazards.
Fire Hazards/ Fire Accident What is fire Cause of Fire Hazards Types of Fire Incidents Identifying fire hazards
What is fire Fire is the rapid oxidation of a material (the fuel) in the exothermic chemical process of combustion, releasing heat, light, and various reaction products.
Cause of Fire Hazards Common fire hazards are found in most occupancies and are not associated with any special occupancy. Smoking, trash, electrical appliances, storage, and heating are common to most occupancy types. However, smoke-free workplaces are making smoking a less common problem . Electrical Equipment and Wiring. Faulty electrical equipment and wiring is a leading cause of workplace fires. ... Flammable Liquids and Gasses. ... Improper Storage and Housekeeping. ... Faulty Heating Equipment. ... Cooking Facilities. ... Blocked Fire Exits and Inadequate Fire Safety Equipment.
Types of Fire Incidents Class A Fires: “Ordinary” Fires Class A fires are the most common of the 5 different classes of fires . They occur when common combustible materials like wood or paper, fabric, and some plastics. Class B Fires: Liquids & Gases Class B fires involve flammable liquids or gas such as alcohol, ether, gasoline, or grease. Class C Fires: Electrical Fires electrical failure from appliances, electronic equipment, and wiring. Class D Fires: Metallic Fires Class D fires are not as common as the other classes, but they do require special attention because they can be especially difficult to extinguish. They require metallic substances such as sodium, titanium, zirconium, or magnesium . Class K Fires: Grease Fires or Cooking Fires: grease or oil fires specifically from cooking.
Knowledge of Fire Extinguishers Portable Stationary Hydrant and Spray water system Special extinguishers for special purpose like Co2 header- Inert gas etc.
Different Types of fire Extinguisher There 5 type of fire extinguisher Water Powder Foam Carbon Dioxide CO 2 Wet Chemical
How to Prepare for the 5 Different Classes of Fires Choose the Right Fire Extinguisher Fire Class Fuel Type How to Suppress Fire Extinguisher Type Class A Freely burning combustibles Water, Smothering ABC/powder, water, water mist, foam Class B Burning liquid or gas Smothering ABC/powder, CO2, water mist, clean agent Class C Electrical fire Non-conductive chemicals ABC/powder, CO2, water mist, clean agent Class D Metallic fire Dry powder agent Powder Class K Cooking or grease fire Smothering, wet chemical Wet chemical, water mist

Evacuation When people are removed from hazardous location & shift at safe places like Assembly point it’s called as Evacuation Procedure. Example Incase of fire Incase of Earth Quick Incase of toxic gas leak
Evacuation Procedure When you are working in shopping mall & high rise building, offices: Don’t panic & stop the work Inform the surrounding people by raising alarm Suppose it’s a small fire then use fire extinguisher. But when realize this fire not control by extinguisher then informed to fire brigade. Proceed to the nearest emergency exit & inform to people Don’t run but walk fast Use the staircase only, never use elevator Walk only left side of the staircase. Leave only right side for life saver & rescue team Give 1 st preference to pregnant women because there are 2 life. Proceed to the safe assembly point & don’t re enter the building until the green signal from rescue team Evacuation time: 2 min 30 sec to 3 min
Role of Guards Crowd Control and Evacuation Proper correspondence and Coordination Fire Safety and Response First Aid and Medical Services Handling Security Threats Post-Emergency Support
