Objectives Back to A g enda Page The Jose V Yap National High School Child Protection Program is created in adherence to the DepEd Child Protection Policy and in consonance with the school’s thrust of providing a healthy and peaceful learning environment for its pupils, students, and learners. The said program is directed towards the a ttainment of the following: Promote zero tolerance policy for any act of child abuse, exploitation, violence, discrimination, bullying and other forms of abuse; Ensure that all necessary procedure for child protection is in place; Identify key individual and their specific roles in the promotion of this policy and, Ensure learners that the school head and the teachers are in the school who they can approach if they are worried of something. Establish and maintain a learning environment where students feel safe and secured, listened to and encouraged to talk about his/her feeling; Provide a warm and caring atmosphere for the learners where they can sought refuge from all forms of injustice or abuse; Implement measures to safeguard our students’ safety and protection from all form of abuse. Assure appropriate child protection desks and procedures apply; Provide opportunities for the learners to develop skills to recognize and protect themselves from abuse; Deal appropriately with every suspicion or complaint of abuse; Be alert to signs of abuse in school and from outside; Ensure all personnel understand their responsibilities in being alert to the signs of abuse or neglect, and their responsibility for prompt and thorough recording of cases and to promptly refer any concerns to the designated teacher responsible for child protection and safeguarding
Back to A g enda Page JVYNHS CHILD PROTECTION PROGRAM GUIDING PRINCIPLES • JVYNHS shall take steps to prevent abuse and ensure that appropriate interventions are provided for the victim/s. • JVYNHS parents shall be actively involved in all school activities or events that raise awareness on children’s rights, positive discipline, and the prevention of bullying. • JVYNHS learners shall respect the rights of others by refraining from committing acts of bullying. • JVYNHS visitors and guests shall be oriented on the JVYNHS Child Protection Program.
Back to A g enda Page JVYNHS CHILD PROTECTION PROGRAM GUIDING PRINCIPLES • JVYNHS shall provide an educational climate conducive to learning that is free from fear. • JVYNHS learners shall be protected from all forms of abuse and/or bullying to develop self-esteem and self-confidence. • JVYNHS shall advocate a positive and non-violent mode of disciplining learners. Corporal punishment shall not be used to correct misbehavior.

The Guidance Designate: a. SEPERATELY INTERVIEW THE BULLY AND THE VICTIM. b. DETERMINE THE LEVELS OF THREATS AND DEVELOP INTERVENTION STRATEGIES. c. INFORM THE VICTIM AND THE PARENTS/GUARDIAN OF THE STEPS TO BE TAKENTO PREVENT ANY FURTHER ACTS OF BULLYING OR RETALLATION d. MAKE APPROPRIATE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE CPC ON PROPER INTERVENTIONS, REFERRALS AND MONITORING
MECHANISMS AND PROCEDURES IN HANDLING BULLYING INCIDENTS IN SCHOOL SCHOOLS Back to A g enda Page 4. CPC determine the appropriate intervention programs for the victim, the bully and the bystander. 5. School Head/ CPC may refer the victim/bully to trained professionals (social workers) psychologists or; IMMEDIATE RESPONSES 1. STOPPING THE BULLYING OR RETALLATION IMMEDIATELY. 2. SEPARATE THE LEARNER. 3. REMOVING THE VICTIM/BULLY FROM THE SITE. IF NECESSARY. 4. ENSURING THE VICTIM’S SAFETY. 5. BRINGING THE BULLY TO GUIDANCE OFFICE
