Definition of Terms : Human Growth - refers to the physical development and maturation of an individual from infancy to adulthood. It involves changes in an individual's size, shape, and physical characteristics as they progress through various stages of life. Human Development - is a lifelong process of physical, mental, emotional, social, moral-spiritual, and environmental growth and change. Changes - refer to the process or result of something becoming different or undergoing alteration. Changes can manifest in various forms, such as modifications, transformations, or shifts, and they can occur in a wide range of contexts, including physical, emotional, environmental, social, or conceptual.

Erik H. Erikson (1902-1994) - a German-American developmental psychologist and psychoanalyst known for his theory of psychosocial development.

Adolescence - is a transitional stage of development that typically occurs between childhood and adulthood. It is a time of significant physical, cognitive, emotional, and social change. 1. Age Range: Adolescence typically begins around the onset of puberty, which can vary but often starts between the ages of 10 and 14 and extends into the late teens or early twenties. It can vary based on cultural and individual factors. 2. Physical Development: One of the most noticeable aspects of adolescence is rapid physical growth and maturation. This includes changes in height, weight, muscle mass, and the development of secondary sexual characteristics, such as breast development and facial hair.

3. Cognitive Development: Adolescents experience significant cognitive growth. They develop more advanced reasoning and problem-solving skills, abstract thinking, and the ability to consider future consequences. 4. Emotional and Psychological Changes: Adolescents often struggle with emotional ups and downs. They are exploring their own identities and seeking independence, which can lead to feelings of self-discovery, identity confusion, and mood swings. 5. Social Development: Adolescents become more focused on peer relationships and may seek autonomy from their parents. They experiment with forming close friendships and exploring romantic relationships. This period is marked by a growing need for social acceptance and the development of social skills.

WRAP UP! It is important to note that adolescence is a period of growth and change, and not all individuals experience it in the same way. Cultural, familial, and individual factors can greatly influence an adolescent's experience. Understanding and supporting adolescents during this transformative phase is crucial for their healthy development and transition into adulthood.

Create your own script showing the various changes during adolescence period and be ready for the role playing. ASSIGNMENT
