Health-related fitness is the ability to become and stay physically healthy. Skill-related fitness is the ability to do well in everyday life activities or sports events
HEALTH-RELATED FITNESS Cardiovascular Endurance is the ability of the heart and circulatory system to supply oxygen to muscles for an extended period of time. Muscular Strength is the muscle’s ability to produce effort or perform work. Muscular Endurance refers to the ability of the muscle to work over an extenden period of time.
HEALTH-RELATED FITNESS Flexibility is the ability to move a body part through a full range of motion at a joint. Body Composition is the ratio of body fat to lean body mass (including water, bones, muscles, and connective tissues )
SKILL-RELATED FITNESS Agility is the ability to move and change the direction and position of the body quickly and effectively. Balance is the ability to stay upright or stay in control of body movement.
SKILL-RELATED FITNESS Power is the ability to overcome resistance in the shortest period of time leading to the ability to produce higher velocities against a given load. Speed is defined as the ability to move the body in one direction as fast as possible.
SKILL-RELATED FITNESS Coordination is the body's ability to perform smooth and efficient movements. Good coordination requires the athlete to combine multiple movements into a single movement that is fluid and achieves the intended goal. Reaction Time is the ability to reach or respond quickly to what you hear, see, or feel.
